Hi - My Z4MR is booked in with Iridium for an Inspection II tomorrow and I was going to ask if they could switch a couple of configuration options 'On' for me. I've been told these are only available with the right Software which I believe Iridium have.

3-flash touch indicators
Daytime Lights

Are there any other switchable options? I tried doing a 'Google' but nothing comes close to listing these!!

Depending on their software you could also be able to change:
  • follow me home lights settings
  • door auto-locking settings
  • brakeforce display settings
  • headlight wash settings
  • automatic window closing
  • rain sensor settings
  • interior light settings
  • alarm/autolock settings
  • electric folding mirror settings
  • electric window settings
  • etc.
There are loads, but I don't know them all.

Cheers - I've got Iridium looking at switching on DRL's, Auto Locking and 3-flash indicators. I'll have a chat with them when they are doing the Config and see what else is optioned.

Another techie question (I hate modern cars. Trust me, this is modern) How the hell do I pair my IPhone 5s?

TIA

To pair the phone:

ignition off push the speech/phone button inside the centre console lid for 3 seconds and while keeping the button depressed then turn key to position 1 and hold for another 3 seconds. So long as your phone is in pairing/discovery mode you then need to enter your car's 4 digit BT code on the phone when requested.

And you can DIY on changing loads and loads of options with Carly. See http://www.mycarly.com/product/bmw-app/ I live about 20 miles east of Iridium and you could bring your car round to mine one evening and have a play if that's of any interest.

That would be great. I work shifts but I'll be about Weds/Thurs next week. When would be best for you?

Which app is that?

I've asked a guy local to me to do some similar things but it sounds like they don't have the right software as they tell me it can't be done.

I've not managed it with JUST an app, but Carly for BMW, along with an OBD2 adapter depending on whether it's for iOS or Android.
