A question for any of the owners out there:

I see 'ambient lighting' listed as a feature on some of the used stock - is it actually an option or was it fitted to all cars, and what does it consist of?

I think it may have been limited to the B&O sound system, you get to have a light around the speaker grills, off, very dim or dim.

My 2014 has it under the code S4URA Ambient Interior Lighting and just the HK sound for mine too.

Have to admit I haven't looked at it is it easy to access?

It's an option under Lighting on the Settings menu.

What does it actually light up?

In my car it illuminates behind the speaker grills so you see the outline of the grills on the front and rear doors, the parcel shelf and central tweeter.

Loving this thread....resurrection.....

So I need a do it all car, just moved from a Masser GTS to a Panamera Turbo S and fancied a change. Both great cars in their own right. Tried to convince myself an I8 would work but think the space will be too limited.

M6GC really catching my eye, will do the RS6 thing when I need real space. Love the idea of an E63 also, but the looks are just too plain in saloon body.

Thinking a 2015 model with competition pack...this looks interesting, anyone seen this colour type in the flesh?

interesting colour not seen one but there isn't really a bad colour for these.the shape can carry any.

If you buy it I would ditch the P-Zero's as soon as practical for Michelins which are streets ahead for grip.

Good luck epic cars!

Tell me about it, Pirelli tyres are borderline lethal in our climate if you ask me. The difference is night and day with Michelin’s.

I guess the advice to ditch the pirellis goes for all M6s? I have the convertible on pirelli and it really struggles for traction

Get rid of them. My M5 was hopeless on Pirelli’s and awesome on Michelin’s.

I’ve never known tyres to make so much difference on a car. Absolutely night and day.

Lovely car.
One thing is, the ad mentions 'Facelift' but its not a facelift car.

Seems like a good price tho if that is a bona fide BMW warranty.

Cheers peeps

How can you be certain a car is a competition pack? I understand they have dark chrome exhaust tips, but that’s only relative if next to a normal one.

The exhaust tips are matt black chrome, non-comp are normal chrome, as far as I can recall that's the only visible difference

From the brochure:

  • Exhaust tips are black chrome (shiny chrome, not matt - sorry jm doc teacher )
  • Suspension lowered by 10mm
  • The wheels are the 601 style
(I know wheels can be easily changed and therefore this isn't usually a good indicator of a car's model/spec, however I don't think the 601 wheels were option-able separately from the comp package, and in any case they're not as nice as the std wheels so doubt anyone would do this biggrin )
