Speak to James at FTC, I found them very easy to talk to and we did a good deal on mine 3 years ago????
Will do. I spotted that the video was 2 years old and commented on the video, James responded (nice to see) and explained it was a car they sold 2 years ago, older video being reused but that they would update.Stever said:

Yep, that's my predicament. I could go that high, but I'd prefer not to. Hence looking at F10 M5s again ..... I do love the GC however.
You don't have to limit yourself to AUC cars. I bought mine from a splendid place and they have one for sale (see link) which looks a million times better than the drug dealers car with the batman sills. If it has a full service history you can apply for a BMW Warranty, it'll cost more in yr 1 if it's out of the dealer warranty but yr 2 onwards it gets cheaper. Currently about £850 a year which includes full breakdown/ recovery but with £250 XS. https://www.ftcprestigecars.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-m6...
No connection other than a satisfied client.
Could you buy the car subject to a BMW main inspection to get it onto their warranty scheme?

That does look like a great car, and some good feedback for the dealer too.

Perhaps. Is anyone able to tell me more about the process (ins / outs) of getting a car onto BMW's warranty scheme?Could you buy the car subject to a BMW main inspection to get it onto their warranty scheme?

You can find more here https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Start
I don't think you can add it to the scheme whilst its for sale with a non-franchised dealer, but there's nothing to stop you getting a BMW inspection, buying the car, and then getting it added.
eta - you probably know already, but a lot of the features listed in the advert are standard on the car anyway.

Thanks, had an email from them with the same link etc. £150-190 per month for warranty pending what excess. Feels a bit steep and I wonder if its then just worth looking at a more expensive AUC. That said, still looking around at the moment but these guys have been responsive and the car looks great. You can find more here https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Start

So sadly that M6 (https://www.ftcprestigecars.co.uk/used-cars/bmw-m6-gran-coupe-4-4-v8-gran-coupe-dct-ss-4dr-amersham-201903256254110) has been sold. I was looking at the finance figures and then wanted to arrange a viewing. Between that time, they took a deposit. So its likely gone at this stage.
Not an M6, but a tidy M5 Competition and not a bad price either. Pity it doesnt have the Comp wheels, does the car's stance look low as per a Competition car? Any other tell tale signs?

You don't want the 601M wheels anyway IMO.
I got them on my M6 GC from new after asking BMW to confirm that they were forged like the 343M. They said they were, but on getting the car it was obvious that they were cast. I insisted that they were replaced with 343M's as they were mis sold.
601M are significantly heavier than the 343M's, about 10Kg per set. On top of that the ones my car came with had several visible shrinkage cracks that I wasn't happy with anyway.

Ah OK, I had seen something about weight but didnt realise that this applied for the 601M specifcally.I got them on my M6 GC from new after asking BMW to confirm that they were forged like the 343M. Not an M so might be different but for my 3yo 330i I just rang up and gave the reg etc and they warrantied it once the 3 year manufacturers warranty had run out (I bought it with 10 days left). No need for a BMW inspection. I was going straight from the 3 year warranty into an extended one though so a gap may make it more tricky.mfmman said:

Thanks. Good to know.I bought both my M6 outside of the BMW network the V10 was a private sale and the GC from FTC leasing. In both cases they were outside of the network warranty wise but as both had a full BMW service history no inspection was necessary but I have an idea there was no cover for the first month when I added the BMW warranty.
It has been very good with many things fixed no quibble. My renewal has just come through on the GC it is £850 for the year £250 XS including the emergency service.
Full service history is a must I think

Just spotted this. Newish car, lowish miles. Not a comp car but has B&O at least.
Thoughts?

no longer available according to their website did you buy it.?
Unusual colour nice interior but shocking advert so difficult to understand options when they list the warning triangle etc etc
It has lane change warning or whatever they call it but can't tell how well specced it is from the dumb wording

Yeah, it's crazy that the 'upgrade' wheels are heavier (and look worse, IMHO)I got them on my M6 GC from new after asking BMW to confirm that they were forged like the 343M.
