Since the initial posting, after a lot of deliberation on whether the black grille would cheapen the look of the car or not (being frozen black), I eventually decided to purchase an OEM M performance black kidney grille for £290.00 this week

I just got an estimated cost to install all of them at a local BMW Autobody shop = £330.00. I would make a booking next week. I thought it was a bit too expensive, I thought I could fix the kidney grille myself based on youtube videos and posting from Bimmerpost but decided against it

The front spoiler from BMW item no is 51128054346

When fitted I would post pictures
The picture below is before modification

The carbon rear spoiler: probably the best of the modifications

I think the black grill adds to the appearance of your car hugely in a very positive way, it really is the dark destroyer now.

I can't make my mind up about the boot spoiler, I have the BMW carbon fibre rear diffuser already fitted and the car has such a nice rear end profile already I'm 50/50 on that.

You car looks great but I prefer my shiny painthehe

Has anyone with chrome exhaust tips found an easy way to clean them/ keep them clean???

I've always wanted an M6 but am slightly wary of not having garage etc.

eg I live in end terrace, with the parking spaces all pointing away from the houses right outside the house (eg not along a road, its an estate with a row of parking spaces outside the terrace).

I don't recall hearing M6s being stolen to order etc, but do you all have trackers etc? Is the paint fairly robust?

I've always used Autosol on previous cars' exhaust tips.

I wouldn't let any of these things put you off. It's a top-end BMW so the paint should be as robust as they come. (You could maybe go for a ceramic coating if you were concerned).

Same, and if you keep on top of them they stay looking lovely for years I've found.

It’s the dark ones that are a problem. I found you have to do a little and often. Anything too abrasive just cuts through the coating. This makes keeping the inside of the tips clean very difficult.

Yes, it'd be good to know what to use on a Competition versions exhausts....

I had dark ones on the 640d. They were easy to be fair, and I never did anything with them other than run my chamois around them! Chrome exhaust tips on the other hand...I look after those better than I do my kids! hehe

Thank you. Unike you, I was sure I wanted the rear spoiler but unsure of the black grille. It is good to hear that other enthusiasts think it enhances the appearance of the car. I was still having a second thought after installing the grilles

Hi All

Got my eye on M6GC's at the moment, only concern is being able to sell it when i'm done in a couple of years as I don't expect that the used market has that many buyers.

Can anyone put my mind at rest so that I can pull the trigger?
