Just revisiting the M6 GC purchase, not many about that tick the boxes.
Anyone selling theirs? Looking for Comp Pack, silver/dark blue/grey. FBMWSH and <50k miles.
Drop me a DM if any about.
Cheers
Paul
Any particular reason you are looking for Comp Pack? They are super rare however you will be surprised most M5/6's kick out 600BHP standard anyway. Anyone selling theirs? Looking for Comp Pack, silver/dark blue/grey. FBMWSH and <50k miles.
Drop me a DM if any about.

I wouldn't hold out for a 'Comp' model (and I say this as an M6GC Comp owner ), purely on the basis that there were only 578 M6GC's in total in the UK, and so you might be waiting a while for a tidy comp to come up.Anyone selling theirs? I wasn't seeking a Comp model when I was buying (it just so happened that my perfect spec car was a comp) , and whilst it's nice to have 'the ultimate', and I like the noise and the fact it's lowered, these things could be done aftermarket if you really wanted them.

Hi All
Got my eye on M6GC's at the moment, only concern is being able to sell it when i'm done in a couple of years as I don't expect that the used market has that many buyers.
Can anyone put my mind at rest so that I can pull the trigger?

They are very special cars (and actually very versatile), and life is too short not to.
Long term, I think cars like these will be particularly sought after when everything else has been downsized and/or electrified. I have a friend with a Tesla and he admits he pines for my car

Didn’t see that one given my search was UK….any reason you haven’t bitten the bullet?
Laziness. I can't be arsed going to get it. Also, it may be replacing my FFRR and I don't think I can bring myself to do it. It's the best I've seen for a while; I saw a Silverstone one today in Waitrose and it did nearly make me ring them and buy it...

It's very rare (but highly desirable IMHO) to have the Competition Package combined with the 433 Style wheels (comps usually come with the 601 wheels)
Why the 433M wheels? Both the 433M and 601M are cast wheels, the 343M are forged and are both stronger and lighter - as well as looking better IMO.

Fair point, but hopefully all wheels are strong enough for the job (hopefully BMW have learnt their lesson from their previous cracking 225 wheels ), Yes, lighter wheels always good for unsprung weight etc, but you're probably unlikely to really notice the benefit on a 2 ton M6, and I think the 343's are the ugliest wheel option.
Out of interest, how much lighter is each wheel?

Probably not from the cracks that were visible on my 601M's!monthefish said:

Style 343M – ForgedOut of interest, how much lighter is each wheel?
Front (36 11 2 283 402) 25.1lb
Rear (36 11 2 283 403) 26.2lb
Total weight per set 102.6lb or 46.54kg
Style 433M – Cast
Front (36 11 2 284 450) 31.1lb
Rear (36 11 2 284 451) 32.8lb
Total weight per set 127.8lb or 57.97kg
Style 601M – Cast
Front (36 11 2 284 872) 31.1lb
Rear (36 11 2 284 873) 32.2lb
Total weight per set 126.6lb or 57.42kg.
Basically over 2kg per wheel heavier.
Personal opinions and all, but for me the 433M are the ugliest of the three, they look rather chunky and clumsy IMO. I'd have been happy with the 601M's which BMW told me were forged when I bought the car, on finding they were cast I insisted that they replace them with 343M's due to miss selling, they did after about 6 months of rankling.

Probably not from the cracks that were visible on my 601M's!Amazing a company of BMW's stature gets this wrong (more than once), and also does such a poor job of the aftermath/cleanup when their products are clearly defective.

My neighbour has 343M on his Z4 and is always moaning about how weak they are he has cracked 3Both the 433M and 601M are cast wheels, the 343M are forged and are both stronger and lighter - as well as looking better IMO.
As has been said personal opinions are relevant I think the 433M's suit the car one petrolhead said they were the best wheels he'd ever seen but he was a Range Rover SVR pilot. The comp wheels don't make the M6GC look at all special IMO
I have a set of 343Ms with winter tyres and I couldn't wait to get them off this year admittedly they are 19" but made it look like a 640D

BMW don't make 19" 343M wheels, so I guess those must be reps which won't be forged. As has been said personal opinions are relevant I think the 433M's suit the car one petrolhead said they were the best wheels he'd ever seen but he was a Range Rover SVR pilot. Beautiful cars, one of BMW's best designs, to my eye. Would love one, but sadly not quite practical enough (f10 probably easier for a family car).
Agree on the looks Wouldn't have classed it as any less practical than an F10 though? (unless you're regularly needing 3 sat in the back)

Not much less practical, certainly the interior is neither here nor there for space and is probably leaps ahead in comfort especially for teens and kids not needing child-seats. The boot is the main difference - smaller capacity and narrower opening iirc. Not a huge difference, but maybe enough to swing it for me, probably.Wouldn't have classed it as any less practical than an F10 though? (unless you're regularly needing 3 sat in the back)

I don’t think there is a huge difference in boot capacity, but the narrower opening of the M6 boot does mean it can be compromised with some shapes/sizes.
Both are great cars, but the 6 is just a bit more special if you don’t need the extra practicality of the 5.
