whats the reliability like on these?
I have never owned a BMW, so all I have to go on is the reputation that people say they break down every other month!
Well my M5 was sold today - basically same drivetrain as the M6 GC. Over nearly 6 years and 66,000 miles I have had a few minor issues. In summary, one of the most reliable cars I've owned.I have never owned a BMW, so all I have to go on is the reputation that people say they break down every other month!
Would like to know where the breakdown info is from

Yes it does have piano black but I haven't seen the car yet or even any pictures, its unregistered and in Sytner stock.
Had to google Hera Blue - and doesn't look a million miles away from San Marino Blue that I like. In pictures it looks quite similar to Sepang Blue that my wife has on her TTS.
Congrats sounds awesome, we will have to have a mini meet with all of these GC's about!Had to google Hera Blue - and doesn't look a million miles away from San Marino Blue that I like. In pictures it looks quite similar to Sepang Blue that my wife has on her TTS.

Well I have bought an M6 GC today.
Had been watching the AUC cars for a while, debating a one year old vs pre-registered but, to cut a long story short, got a curve ball from my dealer who offered a great deal on an unregistered car that trumped the other options I was considering.
So the car is Blue Hera with Opal white interior, Comp pack, B&O and a range of other bits and pieces.
Should be collected by the end of the month and pictures will follow.
So now just putting my Pistonheads advert together to sell my beloved F10 M5 - my daily driver for nearly 6 years. Its going to be cheaper than any other UK car by at least a few thousand and its got a very high spec - even just put on two new tyres and did laser alignment - so if you know anyone looking, point them in my direction. If it doesn't go in the next week, it will be part exchanged.
Well done. I considered that one about a month ago, but could not agree on price. Lovely spec. I'm still trying to find a good deal.

Likewise... I've done 80k miles in mine from new (the last 55k of which has been running a DMS stage 2 map @750bhp) and it hasn't missed a beat - no warranty work done, just routine servicing. I know many owners and know of hardly any issues reported.
How do you find traction with the DMS?? I wanted to get it done but even standard on MPSS tyres I struggle as it is and power is the last thing I think my M6 needs!? Is it really worth it?Does anyone know if you can (forgive me for saying this) put a roof box on the carbon fibre roof? We're looking at doing a road trip later in the year and the additional storage would be good!
I know there are no roof bar slots, but i didn't know if you could get the roof bars that connect to the car door frame perhaps?

With the frame-less doors I don't think it would be possible to fit any sort of roof rack.I know there are no roof bar slots, but i didn't know if you could get the roof bars that connect to the car door frame perhaps?

A couple of times when I took my E90 skiing to the Alps with a family of 4, I used some of those plastic storage bags that you can vacuum all of the air from. Basically doubled our storage space of the boot where we had bulky ski clothes (cost about £10 for assorted sizes from Argos)I know there are no roof bar slots, but i didn't know if you could get the roof bars that connect to the car door frame perhaps?
Maybe not ideal if you are in and out of posh hotels on a regular basis, but if you are driving to a villa or just a couple of places, might be an option.
(You also need access to a vacuum cleaner for the return journey 😬)

No roof rack for the 6 series, I looked at this in depth recently and the closest I got to was this thing.....I decided to just cram everything inside the car.I know there are no roof bar slots, but i didn't know if you could get the roof bars that connect to the car door frame perhaps?

Ok. I thought it was a lighter blue than that. £4k paint option though, but presumably you got a good deal so not really a problem. Is the colour closer to Tanzanite blue than San Marino?
I was expecting it to be lighter as well. (I bought unregistered stock car unseen). But it is closer to Tanzanite which is my favourite ‘regular’ colour so all is good.
