Been out of the BMW fold since selling my 1M three years ago and always had a soft spot for an E92 M3....

So I find myself browsing (so dangerous...) and these 2 cars get my attention, appreciate the colours won't be to everyone's taste but my last 3 cars have been white and I fancy something bright.

Your expert pistonhead thoughts on these two please....

Not sure about being an expert, but have driven a few and looked a lots.

Blue, the cheaper, is A/Used so the warranty is good ; possibly negotiate a 2nd year's warranty and you potentially save loads on any nasty surprises.
It's had 3 previous owners to current, so I'd be looking very closely at service book to make sure it's all good (I've see AU cars with services missed) and the repair history in case it's moved on at anytime where it's been a problem. I think it's been on sale over a month. I often look and searching by distance it's one of the nearest to me so I notice it. Tax expired 5 October, so I'd guess around then. Plate change late Sept.

No Reg plate on red to do any check.
Spec is good, heated seats, mirrors fold, fr/rear p/sensors tho if music's your think, check the stereo I thought Harmon Kardon was lower spec than logic 7 (thought this was BMW individual) and not the same.

I'd normally go blue over red, but I don't like this blue ; seen it in the flesh at a dealer.

I really like the blue and as mentioned above the approved used warranty is a nice bonus, people talk about the throttle actuators and bottom end bearings being possible failure points, though I never had any issues but only covered about 4,000 miles in mine, however its still nice to have a bit of peace of mind.

I miss my competition pack E92 frown

I bought my M3 Competition Pack from LCC recently and had a very brief look round the red car. It looked brilliant and I wouldn't put anybody off dealing with that company, they've been great with me and I'm very happy with my car.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Spoke to both dealers on these 2 cars but alas both not for me as both now sold! Just shows they were both the right spec and money to me and at least 2 others!

The search (that hadn't really started) will continue!

Bad luck and annoying they don't remove them quicker!
There's a Melbourne Red car on,the AU site if that's not too ordinary. Interestingly, whilst it has the Competition Pack wheels it doesn't list as having the CP.
Might be an omission but I know a guy who bought a lovely manual car with the wheels and no one could explain how it had them and not the CP.
The best guess from the second owner and Sales was that the original owner, who only kept it for 6 months, ordered with the CP and BMW messed up, at the factory, so he only had the wheels and not the lowered stance or upgraded EDC.
Well worth checking the build sheet on any car.

There are quite a few non-CP cars around with the CP-spec wheels. You could spec them as an option on a non-CP car (although it made little sense to do so).
