Ta, its certainly blue !!!!! I put it in M mode on the way in to work tonight, I think its on D5 at the mo, most noticeable things were the throttle response and the steering feeling firmer. Will be able to stretch its legs the week after next, as heading down to suffolk., that give me a chance to fiddle with the settings and see what suits. So far it's looking very promising!!!

Given that I drive to work from west london I think that a comp. pack car would have been a pain with all the road humps etc. because of the lower ride height.

I think if you want a car you've got to put yourself in a position to give the first refusal, no point in moaning about it if you can't.

No car salesman is going to do anything other than sell the car to the customer in front of them.

e92 M3s are getting popular as people realise just how good they are and that engine isn't going to be bettered (in a BMW anyway) and they didn't sell that many of them having launched the car into the teeth of the banking crisis, so if you want a good one you've got to put some effort in I would say.

If it was me I'd go have a look at this frozen edition, pictures don't do it justice great looking car in frozen Silverstone interior is cool as well.
I agree with this. I have an immaculate Monte Carlo that has been cherished its whole life and has full main dealer history. It has been detailed, lives under an expensive cover and is only used in the summer months. The down size is its got 76k on it but wants for nothing. I haven't used it at all last year apart from a few sunny days and trips to the main dealer for any scheduled work required, i don't know what to do with it really but i am not to worried about the value of it going down by a huge amount - i think they are a complete bargain for what you are getting for your money!

With a little bit of patience (not a lot) I found THE car!
Picked up a Mineral 2013 Comp pack with 21k on Saturday.
Horrible conditions driving home so I doubt the MPG I managed on that journey will be indicative of what to expect in the future ;-)
Absolutely loving it - the sound is so addictive, especially the blips on the downshifts.
Excited doesn't come close....

Sounds good, v low mileage car, is it a dealer one? Yea that blipping on downshifts is very amusing, particularly if you are driving the car very quickly. Sadly, so far I have been mainly driving my new one in awful weather including snow!! so have not been able to really push it!!!

I,ve been getting about 19.8 mpg so not too bad.....

So far very pleased with it as it is a very flexible car, can be a normal drive most of the time but when you want some fun, press the M button and it is as bonkers as you want !!!!

In comfort mode it seems a little too soft, where as in normal it can be a little skittish in the wet and depending on the road surface, a bit jarring and firm. I suspect that the brakes may be a weak point if you were really pushing it, but of course on the road you are unlikely to find enough space to test them.

Currently, I have the key setting as S5, edc normal and dsc on. M button S6, edc normal and dsc off.

One slight annoyance is the iphone music play back via the usb socket in the glovebox seems to break up a little??

Enjoy!!!! we need some pics!!!!

I don't think that socket is meant for anything other than updates/data import/export? - are you sure its not running over bluetooth when you use it hence the dropouts? smile

Hmme. interesting, that may be whats happening. Once its stops pissing with fking rain I may be inclined to look!!!! I was under the impression that the usb socket could be used to import/export music and streaming. When connected by bluetooth, the phone works for calls, but I'm not sure I see the music?? Thanks for the info. I'll investigate some more.

The USB socket in the glovebox is used for importing music from USB memory sticks to the CIC hard drive (it can also play the music from the memory stick, without importing). The USB socket in the central cubby is used either for power, or, with the right cable (expensive from BMW...) can connect iPods for music playback and show album art, etc if you have the CIC iDrive.

You just need a normal lightning/USB cable now, at least in my 2 cars, one CIC one NBT.

No need to buy the old BMW AUX+USB cables.

You are right - I was thinking of my old one (2008 so CCC) rather than my current one (2012 so CIC). Shows how often I open up the central armrest cubby thing....

Music sorted now, plugged my old Ipod in via the usb socket in the armrest cubby, works fine via the Idrive.
