Been looking about a bit, and was going for an E46, but seen this and think it looks great value, but thought id ask on here.

Looks to have the right options, price seems keen, mileage low and 12 months BMW warranty on it.

https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/2...e-13da1070d...

Ive put down a refundable deposit on it to hold it whilst i did some research, but thought id ask the opinion of those in the know!

Low price and looks nice, just a shame mileage is just over 60k for that cheap monthly warranty.

Enjoy!

Any idea what the warranty would be if it were sub 60k, compared to now?

Looks like it's got a warranty on it through AUC and you can't do a quote on it.

My E61 M5 below 60k is £82 a month but anything after the 60k is £3500.

OP it's got 4 previous owners with the last owner change on 27/10/2017 that would explain why the MOT was re done on the 26/10/2017 even though it had previously been done on 5/09/2017.

It looks like the same dealer was selling the car in September 2017 at £19,453, presumably when it came into stock. It could be the person who bought the car didnt like it or it was rejected. Go in with your eyes open.

Yep ... that bit has concerned me somewhat as well, and had it been a local dealer id probably have given it a wide berth.

I spoke to the dealer and he said that the guy bought it, and came back as wasnt the car for him after all.

Does make me wonder, but also thinking that if it was a 'dodgy' car in someway, BMW wouldnt be retailing it and guaranteeing the car either.

Wish i was closer to have a look at it, but its 150 miles away, still no worries for me to go see the car, and if i dont like it to not bother - rather lose £60 train fare than drop a load on a problem motor.

BTW - would it be worth me sending the previous owner of the car a message once ive bought it to see why he did return it, though granted bt then its a bit late!

Push for two years warranty rather than 1.

They said they could no longer do 2yrs warranty - the guy said he didnt even have the ability to sell me one.

Not sure how much BS that is, or if its fact.

I do know the car is cheap though - cheaper than a lot of private deals, and with a years.

I bought an AUC 730d over Xmas and told the dealer I was comparing two deals, the other being a Jag XF approved car which come as standard with 2 years warranty.
Basically told BMW if they could match the jag deal I'd buy it.

I think ill go up and see the car - and see from there what they will do.

Id prefer 2yrs AUC on it as much more peace of mind.

You'll only know by looking at it.
Possibly as over 60k reason for lesser warranty?

Thats what im thinking as apparently the warranty price jumps hugely in 2nd yr.

A second year (me paying) is £2300 on mine.
I saw the invoice from the dealer for my car, the cost to them for 2 years warranty was £600.

You could ask to see the paperwork for them selling and buying back the car , before a sale if it’s a concern. You’re going to get the address on V5 so there’s no need for them to hide.

If you’re messed around , request they pay you’re train fare. I did that and got 100£ compo smile

They can give warranty , but if it’s already a good price I can understand their reluctance.

You need to be asking to see the AUC check reports see how much work done on the car the first and second time around if you want an insight.

On that basis, if I was the OP I would be prepared to offer the asking/agreed price + £600 for the second year warranty.

£600 was the total cost for 2 years warranty, not just the additional year.

OK, gotcha! What was the mileage of your car when you got the 2 years warranty?
