F10 M5 and rivals

Anyone looking at a £20k 130k mile F10 can't afford an F10 M5.
What utter utter rubbish. For reference, the driveline warranty is just under £5k a year for this car and the comprehensive can be had for under £1700 on a qualifying car.

But those numbers you state above certainly changes the deal somewhat.
So basically it appears that this sub £20k M5 is in reality unsaleable.

I'll agree on the 456, but it is a car worth taking a punt on. A 130k mile F10 M5 isn't.
I don't think that it is unsaleable, but you'd need to be brave to buy it when for not much more money you can get something much better and cover it more comprehensively.
Looking at autotrader there is another on 109k for £23k and then the next is £26k for sub 70k Miles. I don't think that it is unsaleable, but you'd need to be brave to buy it when for not much more money you can get something much better and cover it more comprehensively.
So really you are paying £6k more or 30% extra to get the miles to a sensible level.
I guess for me if I bought the 150k mile version and ran it for 3 years it would be showing 210k and it’s a 2011 so would be 10 years old. What would that be worth?
Conversely buying the £26k one it would have 130k miles after my 3 years

In 3 years at 200k plus miles it wouldn't be worth any more than £12k at a push. Possibly and very probably less.
The sub 70k one in 3 years id say would be mid to high teens. But it all depends on how and if the g30 affects the values. Plus on going warranty costs if you decide to carry on with one.

The 109k one makes no sense if you want a warranty over the 130k one as the cost is the same.

So mid teens £15k that means in 3 years it’s depreciated £11k or £305pcm. In 3 years at 200k plus miles it wouldn't be worth any more than £12k at a push. Possibly and very probably less.

Is that the sweet spot of buying for a pcm depreciation perspective ? Or is a £30/35k version a superior buy
Well chaps I've learned a couple more things about my M5 this weekend...first it can carry a family of five without a Multimac (though I'm going to buy one shortly for longer haul trips this summer). Secondly the speed limiter is more useful than cruise control. Stick at something sensible and you can drive without risking losing you licence and liberty - bonus! It is very comfortable and it should have had the valve mod from the factory, it's a nice extra bit burble, no drone. Do it if you haven't already!
