Absolute bargains but I think you's struggle to get it for £40k cash even in the current circumstance. They'll haggle like mad on a new order but every time I've tried to haggle on a second hand or pre reg screen price they've hardly budged.
I agree

On an AUC, unless it's some weird colour combo or it's been welded to the showroom floor for months, the price is more-or-less the price.
Yeah they have never budged more than a token couple hundred quid before for me.

Shouldnt you be able to get at least ~1-2k off if you take their expensive AUC PCP financing (and then pay off immediately after)?

Maybe that’s it. I’ve never taken their awful finance rates and have never PCP’s only bought outright.

The most I, family or friends have got off is £500 and one friend got an extra years warranty but paid screen price. I've even tried showing them cheaper examples that I was interested and again with no or little move on price. I do wonder if BMW staff work on a % on profit on 2nd hand cars so the salesman won't budge as they'll lose commission where as on new cars it's a set fee per unit.

Yep, there will be no money in that car for them, they will have banked the bonus when then registered it. They will want to sell PCP, GAP, supaguard, tyre insurance etc to make any money on that sticker price.

That's probably correct, but I think it's difficult to compare the two (new/old) they will sell an M5 with 25k discount but that 3 year old one at 60k probably has 5-6k in it before prep work so there isn't that much to give off as the 25k discount on the new one is from BMW not the dealer.

BMW is offering 2.9% on pre-reg M4s a non-comp car can be had for 1k deposit £460 a month a CP I think works out about £50 more - https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202001236505108...

This is also really tempting me - https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202003178520564...

A CS is a tempting proposition right now. I’d want one with ceramics personally as I’d do the odd trackday.

I’d never track it but they do look bloody gorgeous. The GFV is a few grand higher so they don’t work out too much more on a PCP that San Marino Blue one is calling my name.

Those 2.9% deals are insane.

I bought a 2016 420d GC late last year with a car loan. For slightly more than im paying on the loan I could have an M4.

I could sell the 420, pay off the loan and use the difference to pay for the deposit.

Is this a terrible example of man maths? laugh

We've got a 3 week old or else I'd be all over that CS it's a ridiculous deal

These 2.9% PCPs with an £18k dealer contribution look almost too good to be true. Does anyone think the current model M4 will plummet in price when the new shape comes out, or could it be destined to be the ‘last of the good looking ones’ and therefore hold its value (a bit like when the early Bangles arrived)?

And, good as the deals look, has anyone managed to haggle any more off?

I very nearly went for an M4 CS but got cold feet with the current situation I just think cars like this are due a big drop when the impact of covid really hits the economy. The new M4 will have an impact but these offers reflect that you'd never get this offer if it wasn't for the fact the new M is out and BMW need to clear stock.

If your looking at an M4 take a look at the CS the GFV is so strong it makes it almost the same price as a standard competition pack for what was close to a 100k car.

The car will lose money.

Well, yes, that much is obvious, thanks. The question is whether or not it will lose significantly more than the new (or for that matter, any other) model.
