I was seeing these at sub 50 12 months ago although not great specs. Kind wish I’d gone for it.
Not great spec and you’d have still gone for it?
Well, kind off as I think the deals have gotten worse over the last 12 months. I'm happy with the car I got though although its early yet (only had it 5 days).

There is some very fast road driving in the vids I have watched on those videos multiple gear changes to fill engine speed not on private roads and clearly WAY over the NSL. ... say no more it’s not smart or clever or as they are not repeatedly doing max in 1st then second and stopping instead 1/2/3/4/5....

Do not know him but it looks like he's in a bit of trouble with BMW Financial Services

Apparently they’re gonna cancel his finance because he’s modded the car. Can’t blame them I guess I’m sure it’s in the small print. They don’t know what ‘their’ car is worth after being modded so don’t know their risk on the deal at any given time.

Modifying someone else’s car is madness.

New one will be coming “soon” or buy a used version.

Exactly so buy a used one it’s cheaper too and what you want unless you compromise.

After reading this - https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-germancars/bmw...

I started to do some man maths on an M4 Competition convertable - I figured the prices might come down as they try to get rid of the last of these ones that use up all the parts they've got hanging around ( a bit like the shadow edition 1 series which is currently available with huge discount ).

I put a request in at CarWoW just to test the water 2 weeks ago, and only 2 dealers even bothered replying - both quoted ~70k - so it seems like none of them are bothered about competing for m4 sales.

The spec was about the same as this - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201... - and there are some with only a few miles on hitting 55-50k.

Anyhow, I think I'm in the same situation as LaurasOtherHalf - I don't think the back enough is big enough for my 2 car seats - so I think I'm going to need to wait until my kids fit in normal seats.

Think about sciatica if your stretching in doing up belts lifting things in and out.

Get a family car with a big motor M5 or find an M3 instead your lower back will thank me in years to come when you might only be able to have soft willowy suspension to cushion any bumps from your back

We already have a family run about which gets abused, I’d feel bad doing that to an m5.

I was just hoping to get a convertible to go on small trips on with the family and as some fun for me. I just gave back a golf-r lease and am currently carless!

MX5 and no rear seat option - think of your back.

Are they rear facing seats? I’ve gone from a 911 to an Evora and now an M4 over the last 3 years. My kids were on boosters in the 911 but have been off them since. The M4 would be absolutely fine for forward facing seats. Rearwards would fit ok but it’s the faff of getting them in and out that would put me off any 2 door.

We spent an some time in the dealer's with the kids and seats and although mine can without a doubt fit-one being an isofix forward facing and one being an isofix rearwards facing (ages 0 and 3.5) I'm under no illusions that it's a complete ball ache. That's before you take into consideration that the 3.5 year old is very aware and enjoying her car journeys so I don't want to bundle her in a dark hole in the back!

In reality, it's a 4 series GC at best, 3 series saloon/touring more than likely.

She loves the Type-R (as she's been driving it for a year or so with Daddy doing the peddles) so I'm loath to change it for something she doesn't like,

I have a 4 series convertible (not an M) which I think has even less space than the coupe. It’s..... ok getting big child seats in. Faff indeed but doable and plenty spacious in the back for kids even with me in front and in 6’1. Worth it though the kids are obsessed with having the roof down on a nice day!

I possibly have the biggest car seats possible too. Maxi cosi axis’s. - the one that turns round.

Not sure about the M, but the normal convertible doesn’t have behind the seat hooks for isofix 3rd anchor point so couldn’t get one hence the belt attached version.

But you just know the new M3/4 is going to be a step change over the existing.

If your spending this much might be worth getting the launch deals - much faster much more economical much more current.
