There were only 785 CP M5's in RHD for the European market in comparison to over 5000 standard M5's according to M registry.

In the UK the CP is even rarer with only 129 ever registered according to the website 'How many left '.

On another note, the F90 M5 on at the Nordschliefe (amazing time!):
https://youtu.be/LKucFZOUb-I
I did spot that, but perhaps the article i glanced at took production schedule into account, as the CP only arrived well after 1/2 way through the F10's lifecycle as was quite a while post LCi.

Will be one of those models where How Many Left has no clue, as many M5 CP's i guess will be registered with DVLA as just an M5.

The other possible reason could be i dreamt it (wouldn't be the first time)smile

The F10 Competition model is at least in Europe much less common than the "regular" one, if I were to hazard a guess it would be 1 in 20 in Belgium, and maybe 1 in 10 in Germany.

Not sure if the models are being confused as in the UK we had the Competition Model which i believe was limited to 200 units (possibly worldwide) & cost £100k (so more exclusive than the 30 Jahre) & we had the Competition Pack (CP) which had some minor but effective upgrades & the pack was IIRC about £6k over the standard F10 M5. Much of this cost was taken up with the wheels which i think were around £2500 if spec'd separately.

I referred to the Competition model/pack with 575 bhp (+15), not the limited 30 Jahre with 600 bhp, which carries a huge premium.

Was not aware of a separate limited F10 Competition model?

Anyway, back on topic, disgruntled F90 M5 owners could vent their frustration at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rumLE-uNtAI&t=...

At the Pistonheads BMW UK M5 breakfast launch event, the person I was chatting to from BMW UK was very clear that they had hoped to launch both the standard & CP cars at the same time and made no secret that the CP would be launched asap. He advised the delay was caused by the decision over the level of spec.

Yes, I was referring to the Competition Pack (code 7MA? for the CP) but yes, there was also the M5 Competition 'Edition' that was limited 200 worldwide and the Jahre but the M5 CP was 785 in total for Europe in RHD.

What are the great lease deals on the standard M5 mentioned by the Op?
Edit: I guess he means there will be deals towards the end of the year to shift them?

Indeed, but i can't see BMW shifting many of these less desirable F90's if they don't do something pretty sharpish. Existing orders are being cancelled in droves & the Competition looks like a 'proper' upgrade to the F90, rather than wheels & trinkets with the F10.

I'm certainly keeping my ear to the ground for the next few monthssmile

If the standard M5 is this fast, wonder about the Competition model...

it will be interesting to see if BMW support the F90 M5. You can't get any discount at present. Brave pills/deep pockets to pull that trigger. I remember the F10 insane deals. Something like £499 pm. I just can't see them being offered, even at 650.

Not a single M5 owner I know (away from the internet) is even considering buying at list, and I’m yet to see any new M5’s on the road.

Totally unrelated, but in the past couple of weeks I’ve seen quite a few Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo‘s.

Listers told me yesterday there Demo can't be sold (not that I want it at that price) as the car has such limited supply.
However sales are very slow to stop, not surprising really as 3 year old RV is £30K that's from BMW Finance, so the car is worthless after 3 years, joke car.

Is that righ. 30k? I figured 40k would be bad enough but realistic. That’s steep

One of the reason's I wouldn't put that kind of money into a new M5, S63, S8 etc. I've bought and sold Lambo's before and lost a tiny fraction of what I've lost on BMWs over the years. First one I bought from HR Owens, kept for 18mths, put 12k on it and then Owens sold it for me on SOR. Gave me just over what they'd sold it to me for. Happy days

Residuals set to reflect the £15k to £20k manufacturer 'contributions' that will inevitably come when they can't shift them at list price.
