I'm lost, don't we just need to see where we are going at night?
Fair point, well made!! Let's talk exhausts instead
I might fancy the coilovers at 2.5k as well but think there might be too many setup options to worry about, drops the car 20mm

Whereas "human" controlled lights could, in theory, be dipped before the oncoming car rounds the corner. But most drivers CBA or aren't clued in enough to notice.
EFAJust common courtesy really.

Is the M2C comp exhaust out then? I'd heard it was pulled for EU countires as it isn't compatible with the gas particulate filter and thus EU6 emissions.I might fancy the coilovers at 2.5k as well but think there might be too many setup options to worry about, drops the car 20mm
Personally if I wanted coil overs i wouldn't get BMW ones, a proper set of KW's or similar would be a better bet if you want them to work properly rather than just be pub points material.

My 1M was Valencia and I've seen Sunset on other cars, but nothing beats seeing *the* colour on *the* car
Indeed Clive, I recall you being one of the first to get one and your post/pic with one at BMW HQ in Bracknell that prompted me to go over too.I was all set to get VO, awesome in the sun but dull in cloudy weather. Similar variation with SO unfortunately and too dull for my personal taste. But that's the thing. Colour is a very personal subjective thing.
Got to see Hockenkeim Silver at the weekend. That would have been my choice if I was going M2C but it may have changed my mind too seeing it in the flesh.

My local dealer has a Hockenheim Silver M2C is their showroom and being honest I'm not overwhelmed by it. First time I saw it the weather was quite cloudy and dull but today it was bright sunshine and even though the car was right next to the window and in the sun I still didn't think it looked anything special (almost off-white rather than silver to my eye). As you say, colour is very much down to individual taste and preference but personally I still think the choice - or rather the lack of it - is disappointing on the M2C (and yes, before anyone says it I do know how it drives is more important than the colour! ).

Am going to try and get a test drive in a silver one on a bright sunny day but chances are getting slimmer!. 15 minutes drive on the M Tour isn't enough to form a decent opinion of the changes to the C over the LCI I have.As you say, colour is very much down to individual taste and preference but personally I still think the choice - or rather the lack of it - is disappointing on the M2C (and yes, before anyone says it I do know how it drives is more important than the colour! ).
On the subject of Sunset Orange,I have a UK M2 Competition in this colour.
I took delivery 5 weeks ago and my dealer was desperate to see it after I ordered.
The colour is just superb and has received high praise wherever I have taken it.I appreciate that everyone has different tastes but to my mind the Hockenheim Silver is very bland and seems to be by far the most popular choice. Having said that I haven't seen another M2C in any colour other than at a dealers.
Coming from a 16 plate M4, I am very happy with the change and for me it is a much better overall drive.
Only negative so far is the crazy oversized exhaust muffler. The mpe is not available for this car yet.
No luck in uploading pictures.

The MPS coilovers for the M2 are rebadged KW V3 with BMW springs.Edited by mikeN54 on Monday 12th November 20:48

Driving a manual 135i which is pretty similar interior layout my elbow hit the armrest coming 1-2 or 3-4 etc, couldn’t stand it, salesman suggest driving around with the armrest up...not the sweetest manual box either, what’s the M2 like for this?
I love a manual but thought this was a massive design cock up in the 1series.

Mine in HS arrived yesterday, I love it. Yes it isn't a shouty colour, it's pretty subtle, which is what I wanted. I'm surprised it's so popular in that respect.A J.
Having come out of a eye popping san marino blue M6GC with orange seats I wanted the M2 to be a bit more "under the radar" than that.
I've done 50 miles in it today and it is the best car I've drive in years, it's a manual and I haven't notice any elbow / armrest clashes..
Here she is just delivered to us at home yesterday....

Nice one Mike, be interested to hear your initial thoughts about the car after a week or so...Having come out of a eye popping san marino blue M6GC with orange seats I wanted the M2 to be a bit more "under the radar" than that.
