Already working on it....

Ideally I'd make the change immediately so the standard brakes are all but new and the car is a lot easier to work on. .

Lots of bimmerpost threads on it. It seems the BBK is the existIng Mperf BBK for M3/M4 just painted grey instead of red.

Get some squeaky RS29 pads for the full effect too wink

Well, mines on order with a black interior but then I’ve never seen an interior in any colour other than black that doesn’t look terrible. And sunroof, because I’d never consider any car without one. Can’t see the point of the BBK tbh. Nor the sun glass as it doesn’t do much.

Oddly, I only notice to bits I come into contact with while driving. Obviously, if you spend a lot of time stuck in traffic you may feel the need to relieve the tedium by finding out how the rest of the interior feels. Try not to get arrested in the process though, as no one needs to read about that...
Well I'm glad you're happy with it, I however am massively disappointing with mine.

Sorry to be stupid - is BBK big brake kit?

My order's meant to be arriving early November with the M sport braking system... at least it better be...

Hopefully your orders were ahead of the stoppage?

I've gone back to the dealer to ask more about it, i.e. when the bulletin came out.

I had 12 dealers quoting on the same spec last week and only 1 of them knew about the stoppage. He read me the bulletin of his screen.

When I went back to the other dealers (I suspected a sales blag by the dealer in question) they all went away and then came back "errrr, yes, sorry about that we hadn't read it..".

I asked what it meant in reality and they said I could place an order and pay a deposit with option 2NH BBK, but it wouldn't be able get a production slot until the stoppage was lifted.

And the fact we all love different things is what makes the world such a wonderful place...

Still can't stand sun roofs though... love a proper open top, sunroof? nah wink

For me its cos I love to see the tall buildings above me in city centres. Fair enough though, I rarely use my sunroof otherwise

Some ok deals on these on leasing.com already, considering it’s a brand new model.

Ordered in May and locked down spec (I hope) last week.

Seeing mine this afternoon in the dealer's holding compound. Black with orange highlighted interior.

Just waiting for the Frozen Gold forged wheels which are due into the dealer on Monday then it will be PDI'd and ready to collect!

The driving experience, or just the finish on the interior?

I think it's a very interesting car, if only they'd not put that stty dakota leather in it, I know, I know but I hate the stuff and spend a lot of time in my car, you can't even upgrade it to cloth or merino.

Pity because it's almost perfect with the upgraded wheels and BBK.

It's awful isn't it, there's an awful lot of vinyl in there too.

Oddly when I sit on the seat I come into contact with the seat and it's covering material.

HTH.

It's the driving experience and more specifically the drive train I'm disappointed in, I can accept the interior for what it is and the alcantara and carbon highlights do just enough to save it.

Just to add mine is an original M2 not a competition.

Can you elaborate please... some of us are lurking here with fingers on buttons ready to jump into the M2...

Just to counter, personally i think the M2 is the most fun M car you can buy at the moment.
Definitely more involving and engaging than the M3, M4, and so on, and despite not being any faster in a straight line than the M140/M240 it's so much faster and more fun in the corners. The DCT isn't perfect but it's good enough.

Can't wait to get my hands on the M2 comp to see what they've changed.
Autocar certainly seem to like it: https://youtu.be/ksFyTDjRW7Q
