Usually gets a quick wash. If you're lucky they hoover it and change your radio station.
I have a large "please do not wash" sign stuck to the dash to save me all the horror of them washing it with a brillo pad

No more BMW dealers for me, now it's had its run in, it will be going to Darren Wood in Manchester from now on.
This is quite probably a stupid question, but I'm picking up an M2 LCI (it's a non-Comp) on Tuesday which has only just had its RIS. I have had numerous bad experiences with BMW dealers in the past with various BMWs and I'm loath to have to use one again. From what you're saying, is it fine to have a non-BMW garage look after the car whilst still staying within warranty guidelines etc? By using OEM BMW parts and keeping reciepts, I assume? It'll be my first BMW I've owned that's still in the warranty period.

1 week and a handful of miles in and already the first warranty issue - the HK amp has died which means no telephone/audio/PDC gongs. BMW have been okay but I have to wait until Thursday for them to have a proper look/fix.

Worrying it's been going on this long without a more reliable fix. Thanks for the links - I'll ask them if they've taken any steps to prevent it happening again.

Assuming no service pack , if you use a garage that’s subscribed to BMW system the service history be uploaded to the iDrive just as it would if the dealer did it. Therefore there should be no Qs asked in event of warranty claim. Last time I read terms of new warranty the requirements seemed loose. But I think it’s prudent to keep invoices and I would expect anyone servicing an M would use proper materials.

The Idrive service log is just a scam to keep the car in the dealer service network. You can buy a service book for £35 (or less on ebay etc) and do it the old fashioned way. No need to have anything on the Idrive.

Better come sell on time too. I know which I'd prefer on a more specialist car. Keep all receipts of course....

It EU law. No need to use dealers, no need to use BMW parts either if you dont want to as long as they meet the right spec.

Keep records of course.

I have just had an interesting conversation with my lease broker and am hoping someone here might be able to help with information about a specification change that is due in March.

My car is on order and is due for production in May.

I ordered a car (about three weeks ago) with no optional extras (other than the auto gearbox which was part of the lease deal).
a couple of days ago I made contact with the lease broker to say that I wanted to add heated seats as I have forgotten that they weren't standard.

The lease broker has spoken to the supplying dealer who has said that there is a specification change that is due I believe sometime in March and that heated seats are going to be standard from March onwards - all of this for me is good news.

I'm now wondering what else is changing in terms of specifications? I know minor specification changes happen all the time. Do any of you happen to know anything about this potential specification change?

Slightly redesigned rear lights... that's it.

Thanks - Where did you get the information from?

A few people have ordered MY2020 cars at Bimmerpost and interrogated their Sales Advisors, apparently there's a slight price increase but could just be on US cars.

I've just ordered a new one too. PCP tho, not leased. I thought it was just darkened rear lights as far as changes go.

Haven't heard anything about the seats.

Thanks, much appreciated.
I'm going to see if I can get hold of the supplying dealer, surely they could provide a list of standard specification for the 2020MY cars - the anything I've managed to find online so far is the Canadian specification which I'm sure will differ from the UK.

Heated seats are standard on my2020 cars I believe. They are not shown on my order as an option and I have added every cost option to the vehicle.

My new M2 Comp has heated seats and they are listed as an option at no cost.

Also my dealer told me that the M2C will end production July to limit numbers and help exclusivity. Anyone else heard this ?

Not heard that tbh but would be good if it does.

Is the new 1 / 2 series not being released towards the later part of the year? Perhaps that's the reason why.
