My new M2 Comp has heated seats and they are listed as an option at no cost.

Also my dealer told me that the M2C will end production July to limit numbers and help exclusivity. Anyone else heard this ?
Not heard that tbh but would be good if it does.

Is the new 1 / 2 series not being released towards the later part of the year? Perhaps that's the reason why.
Could be - My dealer told me they could not get any more M2C build slots.

Definitely a special coming - think it'll be a CS rather than CSL, but the point stands nonetheless.
One year only, carbon brakes, other details TBC.

Called the local Stratstone to get a price on the 1200 mile service

Call 1 - 'sorry sir, I can't seem to find the car on the system, can I call you back' - no call back
Call 2 - 'sorry sir, we don't have a price for this work at the moment'
Call 3 - 'cannot give you a price sir as all BMW's have condition based servicing so we won't know what we need until the cars here'
I then reminded them that the 1200 mile service is a fixed amount of work and got an aggressive reply
'sir, ALL BMWS HAVE CONDITION BASED SERVICING'

Genuinely curious as to whether people there just book in and hope for the best....

Had the RI service done recently. Got the "Call 1" response from most places but they did call back. Sounds like its worth avoiding these guys.

Lol, your dealer? Dropping of a little bag of goodies was he? wink

I think he's talking out of his proverbial. Help exclusivity? It's a 2 series mass production car. They want to shift every one they can possibly build and don't give a hoot about anything else.

I've seen internal production plans posted on bimmerpost forums, F87 M2C runs to June 2020 IIRC.

Crap then, there was no reason for him to B/S me as I was buying a stock car I had just seen in the showroom, I would not have ordered a new car it was just a mad heart over head moment, I had not seen a stock manual car before and that was only there due to a cancelled order. But every extra except a s/roof including the brakes which said to me , Buy the thing smile

No way it was a dealer order in manual, they've been allergic to them for 10 years now because "nobody buys manuals anymore". For sure a cancelled order.

Salesmen live and breath BS, they can't help themselves, even when there is no need for it. It's in the breed! If he thought you might pay 2p more for the car, or even just give him that admiring look, he'll release the BS Tsunami.

Sounds like you got a great spec car - hopefully at a good price if it was sitting in the showroom.

Re heated seats, they are still a cost option on the configurator today for cars ordered now. It is still the same as when I ordered in September.

But if the car has one of the "packs", comfort pack I think, then that will show the individual items as "zero cost" or "included" but then a cost for the pack separately if that makes sense?

Hi Mike, Yes it does break down exactly as you say, yes got a very good price, I said no a few times before signing on the dotted line, so big discount, plus the service pack, plus an additional £1k as a sweetener, plus the BMW scooter for the grandchildren etc just had to buy in January .

Interestingly there was three identical white manuals at the same dealer recently. Basic spec, £43k.
Decent saving vs new, all had about 10-15 miles.

This is not what my supplying lease broker is telling me. Yes is showing on the current configurator as a cost option, but the main supplying dealer has told the lease broker that heated seats are now standard. This all came about after I realised I have ordered the car without heated seats and went back to the lease broker to say that I wanted to add them.

I know a little confused because I can't find any evidence of this specification change anywhere online and the lease broker hasn't given me the number for dealer. - I wonder if I might get an answer by phoning BMW uk?

So I've done 700 miles in one of these now and I must say it's excellent. Great fun. It's quick, engaging to drive, sounds good and has everything you could want in a sporty daily runaround with 4 seats. As ever, in my humble opinion, BMW's infotainment system is class leading. I think it looks really cool too.

I have two main criticisms. Firstly it rides hard, even in comfort. I only had the previous generation M2 for a brief period, but I don't recall it being quite as stiff. One of the elements which made the 1M so brilliant was the ride. It was beautifully measured and that critical bit softer. The Golf GTI Clubsport was similar. Harder when you changed the driving dynamics but in comfort mode it rode bumps and imperfections beautifully.

My other gripe is something I've never encountered in a road car before and something nobody else has mentioned so it's clearly just me!! The rear view mirror seems massive. I honestly find it obscures my view out, especially when cornering. It's one of the most bizarre sensations I've ever had whilst driving and I thought it would disappear when I'd done a few miles but it's persisted, regardless of how low I position the seat. I'm sure it must be me but I'd be fascinated to hear if any other owners have noticed anything similar ????

You mention it rides hard, even in comfort mode. Pretty sure the suspension has no adjustment via switches inside the car, unlike the M3 and M4.

And yes, the ride is hard! I generally don't mind it but the other half does. Upside of that is that she's unlikely to ever borrow it!

Got my Sunset Orange manual in December and finally started driving it now the weather is improving.

I’m completely onboard with all those who say this is the best M car BMW has produced in ages. It’s very likely the best M car I’ve driven or owned (2x E46 M3s, F80 M3, even better than the X5 M...) - very quick at road speeds, very torquey, ride feels good to me, planted without that slightly scary handling edge the F80 M3 had, my drive to work is A roads with plenty of great British potholes. It’s the right size for British roads and pretty practical.

The seats are great. I thought the Dakota leather would annoy me, but it doesn’t. BMW infortainment system with Apple CarPlay is really good.

Just ordered an M Performance Alcantara race steering wheel as I think that will finish it off nicely.

Was in two minds about getting this car, but so glad I did. £55k new, I’m sure a few deals around now pre-registered. Got to be a bargain.
