It’s the stratstone deal I linked on the previous page. You can see the £11.1k dealer contribution in it.

I spoke with four dealers, each only had one or two cars ‘hidden away’ on Saturday morning.

As per other posts, remaining cars include dct and both packs.

The one I got only had one of the packs so was a little cheaper.

From memory for 2pack cars, some prices were:
£499 then £590/m 10k pa
£1500 £560/m 10k pa
£1500 £520 8k pa

GDV c.£23.5k after 4 years at 1.9%

Each extra £1k deposit generally = £25/m reduction, so ballpark maths are easy. At 1.9% it’s cheap money, so preferred to keep cash deposit at a minimum.

Other non stratstone could only offer the dealer discount with a c.£5k deposit.

PS The m4c discount is c.£18k but they’re all high spec cars with £8k options so not cheap.

Hi all - any updates on where the good deals are for these now? I'm thinking about a new order manual car.

I would start with Tony Lewis at TRL, his prices are up there with the best. Curious to see if you can still get a build slot.

I was offered a good deal on a new car with TRL. Comp with plus pack and comfort pack for £49995. £10k deposit,35 months of £407. Problem for me was the balloon payment of £28700. I am hoping to keep this car for a little while so that figure didn't work for me. To be fair to TRL they did try to reduce the GFV but it meant a longer term and much higher monthly costs. So I decided to buy a 6 month old car with the same spec. This gave me figures that I was happy with. Probably not a good a deal on a brand new car but it worked for me. The dealer told me they only have 1 brand new Comp left and that is the last 1 of their years allocation. I think these cars will become a bit scarce towards the end of this year.
My test drive was amusing. Because of covid test drives are unaccompanied. Because it is an M car they have to follow you in another car. The salesman was in another M2 but didn't fancy a spirited drive. I was back at the garage about 10 minutes before him laugh
I got my fully loaded M2C for £48,042 (straight 15% off list) a year ago so you might find there is a little more give in the price.

In my experience, with 3k on the clock and a couple of longer journeys done they're OK. Compliant enough but you're certainly kept aware the focus is elsewhere than cruising. Usable however, so not a deal or back breaker.

Glad I still have a diesel estate as a runaround smile

I don't know if the ride is any stiffer than an M3 Comp, but I found that fine for euro trips and use as a daily. Warning- I prefer stiffly sprung cars anyway, though my wife didn't complain, either.

M2OG/M2LCI and M2C all have softer rides than M3 Comp even in comfort mode. M3 non comp I would say is more akin to the ride of all the M2s. From that perspective an M2 may be more suited to a daily.

I can't say for certain obvs given I've not driven one but I expect the M2CS will be the same ride as M3CP/M4CP given it too has the adjustable M Suspension as standard.

I've switched from M2LCI to M3CP and find the seat base less comfortable though more supportive laterally. I also miss lumbar.

Just ordered some carbon parts. Front splitter, mirror caps, side skirt extensions, rear diffuser and boot lip spoiler. All genuine BMW parts rather than aftermarket. Also got the 763m wheels on back order. I'll post some pics when they all arrive
Oo nice. Did you get a deal on them?

Pick mine up on Saturday. Got some winters at the same time. If you stick with the same 9" on the back as well as the front (different offset though) a set of 640m's (not the prettiest I know) with Alpin 4 is £950. As opposed to £1300 for just the rears at 10" with tyres.

I got them from Doncaster bmw (where I’m getting the car).

You can get a set of 9x18(f) and 10x18(r) 640m wheels and Alpin 4 tyres for c.£1850. These are the default choice in my experience of phoning round.

Alternatively you can also get a set of 4no. 9x18 640m wheels (with different offsets f & r) that fit the Competition (with std brakes) and Alpin 4 tyres for £950.

Cotswold/Cheltenham BMW quoted me £999 delivered.

ETA to write the above post in English as opposed to waiting outside shop on iphone.

Sorry I am confused about the difference between the £950/£999 solution and the £1,850 sokution. I quite like the 640M and at a grand they would be a bargain with tyres. Is it that cheap and how?

Simply:

£950 - retail price of 4no. 9 x 18 640m alloys and 4no.matching Alpin 4 tyres picked up from Doncaster BMW.

£999 - as above but including postage to your door from Colchester BMW

£1850 - price of 2no. 9 x 18 (front) and 2no. 9 x 10 (rear) incl 4no. matching Alpin 4 tyres. Of that £1850, £1300 is for the 2no. 10 x 18 alloys and 2no matching tyres alone. So you are paying a massive premium for the wider 10" rears over the 9".

My point is that if you phone up a dealer and ask for a set of winter wheels/tyres, they'll default to the expensive package, so you'll need to ask for the narrower rear wheel option.

The narrower rear wheel has the correct offset (as they differ front and rear) and they fit the standard (as opposed to the larger) brakes.

Thanks Ben. So there is 640M rear specific wheel in 9" that has the correct rear specific offset and it happens to be very cheap, that sounds like a great solution. Presumably it's a square tyre set up 235 40 18?

Correct. The 9" rears incl tyres are £457, so essentially the same price as the fronts.

I can't remember the exact tyre sizes. I pick them up on Saturday so will update once I know for definite. smile

If you call your BMW dealer they should be able to find them on the system for you (these are rrp prices), but you may need to push them as (from my experience at least) it's not the default solution so they will need to put some effort in - 'oh I didn't realise that they did...' has been uttered a couple of times to me.

In fact here's a link with the details incl part numbers (these look used though): https://www.werksraeder24.com/bmw-winterkomplettra...

I am potentially after an M2, and have looked at deals like this but if I'm honest they don't make a lot of sense to me. 3 years of payments totalling c.£25K after which you may, or may not, have any equity left in the car. And £29K if you want to keep it.

Meantime you can get a BMW AUC M2 for £30-£35K.....and obviously the Comp is better, but is you buy wisely you can get an OG M2 for not much more than your 3 years' payments. And after 3 years you still have a car worth £20Kish.

Am I missing something?

^^ see where you're going but you're comparing a new car with a used car that fell out of production 3 years ago. Isn't like for like or even close to it. New car deals need to be viewed in isolation and compared to other new car deals.
