M2 Competition
Discussion
I have the adaptive headlights and they are very good, the only weakness being either on very twisty roads when there aren't many cars around, and on dual carriageways when cars can get hidden by the central reservation and it ends up putting full beams on and dazzling other motorists. The former being where you can see there is a car coming and normally would anticipate and dim the lights before it comes round the corner, but the system doesn't and blinds people for about a second before it realises there's a car there.
However, if you're driving at night and are on it, the way the headlights swivel is brilliant - great visibility!

So creaky driver's seat. Is this a M2C thing or just mine? Anybody else have it and have you had it fixed successfully?
Mine creaked but it was the seat onto the centre console (worse somehow when the weather is colder?). Fixed 100% with some velcro (fuzzy side) along the top edge of the centre console.I have seen cases of seat itself creaking when searching on other forums though...
Thanks. Doesn't sound like the centre console from memory but will delve deeper. It's more when the car is driven a little more enthusiastically. We have a lot of undulating roman roads around here and it's particularly noticeable as you move from crest to depression.
It might be because I have the seat tilted as well as reclined to compensate for the lack of lumbar support in them. It still shouldn't creak though!

I think there's a bit of a mixup between adaptive headlamps and high beam assist.
Adaptive headlamps are the ones that swivel as the car turns; the amount of swivel is a function of the steering wheel angle and the road speed. They're enabled by rotating the headlamp switch anti-clockwise to the "A" position.
High beam assist is where the high (main) beams turn on and off automatically and move the lights around to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. They're enabled by the button on the end of the stalk. Pretty sure they only work above 30mph or thereabouts.

You should also have an adjustable lumbar support in the seat.It might be because I have the seat tilted as well as reclined to compensate for the lack of lumbar support in them. It still shouldn't creak though!

No creaking seat or arm rest. Though there is a slight squeaking/chirping noise on startup until engine warms. Presumably a loose belt of some sort?
Turned out to be a drive belt. They've cleaned it and sprayed it with something. If the noise comes back they'll replace the belt.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
