I actually think the power delivery of the N55 suits the manual gearbox better than the power delivery of the S55, if i wanted a manual M2 i would absolutely be seeking out an LCI non-Comp - and thee N55 definitely sounds better too.
Sadly i had to have something younger when i last purchased which forced me into the Comp, and it made more sense for the usage involved to get DCT.
Yes I agree. Comp DCT is a brilliant combo. LCI manual N55 are very rare - a pre-LCI manual would do nicely too I think.Sadly i had to have something younger when i last purchased which forced me into the Comp, and it made more sense for the usage involved to get DCT.

That's really interesting - what are the highlights for you compared to the OG?
You've got an OG (whatever that means), you love your OG and that's great and I'm sure there are some people who will agree with you but general consensus is the Comp is the better, more resolved road car, that's all.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5bEUc72TuE

I happen to rate their opinions much higher than my own when it comes to these things.

Both are great cars, the N55 (“OG”) one sounds tonnes better though.
Totally agree, they're both great. As it happens (having had an M4 Comp) I've become rather fond of the engine note. It's not tuneful but I love the aggression.
Always each to their own

I prefer to form my own opinions and I am always interested in people's experience, particularly if they have owned both cars.
It's interesting to note that both the reviews you posted mention different suspensions on the M2C and even rose jointing. Yet the reality is that both cars have exactly the same suspension kinematics, same parts numbers and rose jointing never happened.
One is faster and has gorgeous seats ; the other one sounds better - at least for me, and has power delivery that I prefer, not to mention is slightly lighter.
My own experience based view is that both cars are very very similar in the way they drive, which is hardly surprising. But I might have missed something obvious, hence my question.
In fairness, I am at Thruxton next week with my friend in a M2C so perhaps my view will change after that.

You will see my comment specifically says a better resolved "road" car so I'm not discussing track which we both know will flatter your car.
Rightly or wrongly the general view is that whatever changes were made to the M2C resolved the tendency the original car had to bounce on anything other than a perfectly smooth surface, making it somewhat of a handful albeit a great fun handful.
However, I'll bow to your superior knowledge on the suspension components being nothing more than smoke and mirrors and accept that apart from the seats they're exactly the same, except the M2C is heavier and sounds worse.
Damn! It would appear I bought the wrong car
Doesn't matter, can't drive for toffee anyway...
Enjoy the weekend and your trackday

It really has nothing to do with what I have, I can appreciate cars that I don't have, no bias here.

I’ve owned the original for nearly 4 years and 3 months ago px’ed for a comp, I’m no driving god but differences in how they drive is quite noticeable.
The comp is more planted than the og don’t ask me how and why it just is and as you say there’s no apparent difference in the suspension components, I suspect they’ve achieved this through diff/stability/throttle programming, nail both cars 2nd gear in a straight line mdm selected the og would start to go sideways at very low speed the comp doesn’t do that.
My og had a full Remus which sounded pretty epic at any rpm so that’s a backwards step in the comp, but let’s face it all cars are going that way and if want it to sound better I’ll have an exhaust fitted, but so far that’s not bothering me.
Good luck at Thruxton I’m sure you’ll have a blast in either m2.

Just bought a 2020 M2C, finding it's a blast to drive.
I asked the (main) dealer if it had Carplay, he said it did, but it looks like it doesn't and from reading this thread I think it can't be added as the car does not have the comfort pack.
Does that sound right? I'm surprised as I have a 2019 i3S with it, and previously a 2018 M3 CS also with it.
I did see the post about adding an aerial and having it coded but not keen on taking an unofficial route, just wondered if anyone has added it since BMW stopped charging for it?

I don't have the comfort pack (which is the electric seats and reverse camera etc isn't it?) but I do have Apple Airplay on my 2020 M2C so it should definitely be on yours I would have thought.
I take it your iphone is connecting up ok and you can makes calls etc?
When you're at the home screen/Menu (with all the tabs in front of you on the screen), scroll right (clockwise) until the end where you'll see media (unless I moved it in mine!). If you scroll right again (even though the menu won't scroll anymore), you'll see Apple Airplay appear at the bottom of the media menu. Press to select.

I didn't have car play on mine but i did have the comfort pack, I used defined coding and was sent a cable and a code with some software and plugged in the laptop, took about 5 minutes.
I believe its something to do with the comfort pack having the wi fi Ariel which is needed for car play. They can also supply that too.
hope that helps
Dave.
