M2 Competition
Discussion
If you have Wifi hotspot and wireless charging option (can be specced without Comfort pack) then you should have the necessary antenna to download Apple CarPlay from the Connected Drive store (for a cost of course) though if you’re have the option anyway then someone should be able to code it.

^^ sounds like a good solution but I would be concerned about warranty implications when coding even if the coding has nothing to do with any potential future warranty claims.
Equally all could be fine, you win some you loose someCar is 3 years old later this year so the warranty will be up.
I was nervous at the time though....
Without trawling through the whole thread as I assume this question has been asked a few times. But the old Manual vs Auto debate.
What's the manual like on the M2? I've only every had a 130I years ago and an E36 325i before that and to be honest the gearbox was rubbery, notchy and didn't like to be rushed. Is it the same on the M2 and as I like a quick change would I be better going for the Auto?
I've come from Porsches whos manual gearboxes are a thing of delight so wouldn't want to go back to something a bit clunky.

The manual isn't world class but nor it is bad. It's a little imprecise, but it's better than the Exx series gearboxes in my experience. That being said, I drove a dct and was pretty bored by the experience so ended up specing a manual. I would try one before you make a decision either way.
I've only done just over a 1000 miles in a F82 M4 with the DCT, but I'm already questioning why I didn't go for the manual instead to be fair. It isn't that I think that the DCT is poor, but I'm already missing the extra control/involvement that a 3 pedal manual offers though.
So given the choice again I'd go for the manual instead in the M4, and I'd do the same in an M2 as well. I think the bottom line is that I'm just not a 2 pedal man in a performance car to be fair.

Given the current strength of the market I suspect your car hasn't lost much value anyway Lee, should you succumb to a manual... In fairness manual M3/M4 are practically impossible to find. Agree Nick. I think I would have to compromise in another area(colour/spec/age/miles) if I did go for the manual, and they do seem proper rare for sure. Originally I did always want a manual M4, but I seem to be in the minority of wanting a manual when you consider how many DCTs there are out there. With me being a touch old fashioned(read a dinosaur!), it does amaze me why the DCT outsold the manual by such a massive amount. I struggle a bit to get my head around it to be fair, and I presume it is because the dealer would push the DCT because it was an expensive option. Plus these cars are mostly used as a daily so that arguably suits only 2 pedals, also a BMW manual isn't always the most nice thing to use, and perhaps that played a part in it as well.

I just hope your forthcoming ride in a manual M2 doesn't turn your head completely. There are far more of them. Usually less than 10 AUC out of 100+...... and as a consequence they are more expensive than the equivalent DCT. You're right about people being put off by previous average quality manual gear change in M cars, but they are much improved although still nowhere near the best (Honda). The M2s just about matches the Clio's gear change quality/feel although the auto blip is nice in my old age as I don't have to do the cancan so often.

I definitely don't think that going in yours is going to help for sure Nick! I reckon I will definitely want a manual after that.
I also like the auto blip in the 370, and I think that it is a good feature.

Will probably go the coding route I think.
Otherwise the car is perfect, has the M Performance coil overs and the big brake kit and is as new condition.
Feels like the perfect car for my needs after a seemingly never ending search.
You should be able to add the antenna, about £10 on amazon, and then buy the software via eBay for around £50. I have just done this, and took me about 30 mins.Otherwise the car is perfect, has the M Performance coil overs and the big brake kit and is as new condition.

One of coding companies will just do the same and charge you £200.
I’m happy to say that yesterday I collected my M2 Competition! Not sure how in the current climate but I managed to stumble upon a very good deal for a well specified car through BMW.
Hockenhiem Silver, both packs, Apple CarPlay, speed limit display and importantly the 2NH big brake option!
I’ve done 500 miles in the last 24hours and I’m really enjoying the car. I still think the Powertrain needs a lift in character but other than that, I love it as a swift, competent, comfy daily.
Now, which exhaust……

2NH, wish I had it... sigh. Even toyed with putting an AP Racing kit on mine or going 2NH at the stealers (think it's a 2k option)Hockenhiem Silver, both packs, Apple CarPlay, speed limit display and importantly the 2NH big brake option!
