Well you have just tought me something new, I knew the box in the boot did something from the pictures, I’ve tried a couple of time to pull the lever and nothing happened, now I know it’s because I have the hard top on!, I’ll give that a bash next year when it comes off.

As for the ones i went to see, the money was needed mainly on mechanical items, broken suspension, warped and low brakes, missed services so had to budget an inspection 2 on most, tyres, a/c, wheel refurb etc you name it there was something if not all of the above wrong on most of the cars I saw.

I went to £15k and found mine which came with the original hardtop, stand and cover and wind deflector, had every common problem done and more, the compromise was slightly high mileage than I wanted, but as I said condition and history is the key to these cars, they are out there but be prepared to search long and hard.

Good luck

Yeah it took me and the dealer guy about 15mins to figure out. That extra 5" or so really makes the difference. In fact without that extra space I couldn't get the buggy in!

Just out of interest, did you take your car to a trusted garage before buying or you quite savy with cars in general?
