Twenty years ago they probably said the same thing about the E39...

E39 was too heavy, too complicated, who needs a TV screen in the front laugh

The E39’s party piece (possibly with a fruity zorst) is it’s noise.

Often in my local garage there is an M5 E60 “AGM 500” plate which he has moved to an F10 M5. But there is an E39 M5 and every time he pulls away at the garage he floors it the noise through 1/2nd Gear is very nice (30mph..... lol)
