It’s currently at £56995. Mj19acz

BMW have said they won’t offer a warranty on it.

Thanks

There's one on the BMW Approved Used website at Sytner High Wycombe that's only £500 more than the car you've been looking at.

Sorry I don't know how to post the link, but it's a February 2019 with 22,000 miles, Marina Bay Blue with Aragon Brown interior which looks quite nice. It's got quite a good spec as well including the Bowers and Wilkens hi fi system.

Yes it's slightly older and higher mileage than the one you've been looking at, but you've got the peace of mind of it being an approved used car with the warranty.

Thanks Harry but just not a fan of the blue.

I think I will be going back to the M5 through a fellow PH'er

Agreed - a very kind offer. Unfortunately no BMW warranty means its a non starter for me.

Well after four F90 M5's this will be my last one, driving today is just boring, way to much traffic and cameras on every stretch of decent roads.

May go IONIQ 5N when it comes next year.

That's a shame JM, although I can see from your car history why you might want a change from an M5!

I'm relatively new to F90 ownership and thoroughly enjoying the experience (even though my last tank cost £127!). Just today exiting a car park, front windows open due to the weather, I overheard a car of 4 lads comment positively on the car (they were in an E9x coupe).

A friend of mine has a Taycan Turbo S and it's superior to the F90 in every way (apart from range) - however I still plan to drive a V8 until priced off the road by fuel!

Having owned two F90 M5’s I’m now out. Sold mine to a dealer yesterday. I won’t be going back for similar reasons. For me it’s a bit like having a relationship that’s not good for you because there’s far too much temptation and power available for the roads nowadays.

Yep I am going to get done one of these days, to much power at an instant.

Can I recommend a hugely fun car that you can ring its neck and still stay (fairly) legal.

Renault Sport Clio 172/182.
Great tractable n/a engine
Handling
Low weight

Or if you want to use all the horses all the time and never get nipped - Citroen AX GTI/GT. again so much engine noise feels so fast but it isn’t it’s just plain fun.

Electric range is the stumbling block for me at the moment, M5 staying for this year, see what happen next year.

I’m done with silly fast cars for now, but will probably change my mind at some point based on my previous buying history. I’m looking forward to a new Range Rover which will hopefully arrive later this year smile

the thing is, EVs are boring as bat st and the only sense of fun you can get from them is the acceleration up to 60-70mph, even then they're just an appliance.

What about a naturally-aspirated Cayman

Agree on EV, I need 4 seats and space.

I don't really get this, you don't have to be thrashing a car all the time to enjoy it? As has been said it's not really that easy in the South East but owning an M car is aspirational, it's for roadtrips on less crowded roads (visit Shropshire or Herefordshire for instance), and weekends away as well as for daily local runs but there are other reasons why owning an M car is enjoyable isn't there? It's a quality item, and I like quality.

I enjoy the M6 most days it's a very nice place to be with efficient aircon, heated or cooled and ventilated seats, good hifi and still sounds good if you put the windows down while you're squirting it around. You can play with all the major settings the settings to adjust the car at different times to different moods and if you have a long journey to do even 4 up it munches the miles away effortlessly.

Obviously it doesn't apply to everyone but some cars make you feel good just owning or driving them, how great would it feel just to reverse an F40 out of your garage! How far and when you push the loud pedal is in your control, you can just as easily get nicked in a Yaris. As for the soul less electric stuff yuck you can keep that, they're not really for people who enjoy driving hehe

I bought my sons old 2006 mini cooper s, enjoy driving that too and TBH I seem to drive that faster than any of the cars but I wouldn't want to do a reasonable length journey in it

The reality for me is I have a nearly new Range Rover sat on the drive too and for any long journeys, and most others, I will take the keys to that, making the M5 redundant other than for occasional blasts. That’s why it’s gone (for now).

I'd imagine the RR is another feel good car and a lovely place to sit too. There's too many great (ICE smile) cars and not enough time (or money) to try them all.

Yes I do get pleasure out just driving it, that is why I'm finding it hard to replace.
Will keep for this year anyway.

It's hard to disagree with any of that, and living in the Welsh Marches has certainly shaped my perspective on long term M5 ownership (F10 in my case) against a rising tide of "you can't use that properly in the UK" sentiment. I've used it properly for the last 150k miles and can't bring myself to part with it.

It seems a bit sad really, to have offloaded all the daily chores to company expensed EVs. The intention is to just the M5 just for touring and fun, but I don't seem to do much of it. I have a big driving trip lined up for August which will take me all over central Europe and the Balkans, so the M5 will get its legs stretched then at least.
