So M car service intervals are same as non-M cars? Two years or mileage - what’s the mileage interval?
The mileage interval is variable based upon usage profile it's called CBS.

So have agreed a price for the Black M5C - going to see it, drive it and, assuming all checks out, buy it on Monday.
So do you have a new car Marty?

Hello,
I'm in the search of a F90 M5 (which will be my first M car) to replace my GLC63s coupe, hopefully in the next few weeks. Need some help deciding M5 vs M5C within my budget of £60k - looking at the current BMW approved cars, could be low mileage M5 (10-20k) or higher mileage M5C (20-30k mostly).

ACC is a must-have as I like taking my car for road trips, which also limits my options - very surprised this option is not popular and I see more basic M5 with ACC than M5C. Sunroof I'm giving up as I only see 1 M5 with it so far - this maybe not a concern for most but I will take the car for long trips (ie, plan to drive to Lyon-Nice in Aug) so wife and daughter were very against a M5, daughter actually asked why can't we get a Tesla rolleyes The comfort package is common so should be easy to locate one, premium package I like the message seat but not sure how useful it is ?

I'm eyeing one 3 basics M5's, not the best colour combo for me but probably can live with (will head down to a local dealer tomorrow to look at one, full black interior is what I am unsure of). There's plenty M5C but none with ACC - well there's one with 37k on the clock but I don't go for a car with that high mileage.

I'm in two minds atm, just get one of the M5 before my August trip to France and have some fun, or hold out and maybe rise budget say 65k for a M5C?
Tried to pm you but you account doesn’t accept emails.

I have a car you might be interested in - 69 plate non comp Marina bay blue with silverstone done 9k, premium and comfort pack.
It has bmw warranty too until March 23

Can anybody help with this?

I have M1 and M2 both set to auto transmission. However sometimes when in M1/M2 I fancy manual mode; when I knock the gear lever to the right manual mode is engaged but then M1/M2 are disengaged and the car goes back to the start up comfort mode.

Am I doing something wrong? Seems ridiculous that I can't choose manual transmission for either M1 or M2 on the fly.

Thanks

I agree, got the paddles then hit m1 or m2 if you want to change or pull and hold right paddle to resume auto

Oh....in previous cars (MB, Porsche) if you just pulled a paddle whilst in auto mode it would go to manual but after a period of time of not changing gears it would go back to auto.

So are we saying that once I pull a paddle it will go to and STAY in manual until I actively choose auto again?

Thanks

Best go and have a play but pretty sure if you start paddling and then pull the right paddle it resumes auto.

Which car is this? Pretty sure that doesn't happen in my non-Comp F90 (but I'll have to double check tomorrow).

Hi there, does it have the Driving assistance plus? Please email me with some more details - I’ve enabled the email option. Thanks

Yes it does and has the comfort and premium package too.

I know you mentioned taking on a France trip. It works a treat. I am in Val D’Isere now and it did 31mpg from Calais.

This is on the spec sheet

S5AT Driving Assistant Plus
S5DN Parking Assistance System Plus

Have sent you an email.

I had a quick play on the way home and am pretty sure what I said was correct.
Whilst in M1/M2 I can pull a paddle which will only temporarily make it manual mode. When I pulled up at lights it went back to auto.

I was a bit distracted on the way home but I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

I'll have a proper play tomorrow.

Thanks

I'm in manual mode pretty much all the time.
But I think its expected that if in auto mode you use the paddles it will stay in manual mode as long as you are using the paddles or a pre-set amount of time has passed after which it switches back to auto.
IIRC if you are in this state....if the gearbox selection for auto was 1, but the manual mode you are using is say 2...the display will show the manual gear that you are in but the gear selection for auto ie 1 if that makes sense.
If in M1/M2 you press the same M1/M2 button again it reverts back to the default start up settings.
If in auto mode and push the gear lever to the right it will switch to manual and stay in that mode....and vice versa.

A little confused by what you have said.

This is the issue I have;

M1 is preset for auto because I'll often use M1 in day to day driving but don't really want to be shifting myself. But then lets say the road opens up a bit and I fancy shifting myself, if I then push the gear lever to the right it will go to manual but disengage M1 and go into the start up comfort/economy mode....which of course is the exact opposite I what you want when the road opens up.

So, even though M1 is set up for auto, I want to be able to go to manual and for it to stay there until I say otherwise.
Is this not possible?

Thanks

Mine is a std F90 M5 so perhaps it acts differently to your car.
I'll have a look next time I go out and try out what you want to do.

I tested this a few times today following your post. Non-comp F90. I have M1 set to Auto gears. When I knocked the lever right for manual, it took M1 mode off the screen (as I'd changed the gearbox setting so was no longer in that mode) BUT it kept all other M1 settings i.e. Sport throttle, suspension, steering and MDM traction control. (Standard settings are comfort all round).

Is yours is a Comp pack given it responds differently?
