F90 M5 Competition

Leaves a nice big gap for anyone to move into and you just go backwards. It's only use is in an actual traffic jam. Maybe the Nissan is different, or maybe you just like to go backwards? Good luck
Don't know about BMW but the Nissan version has 3 distance settings...the closest setting leaves a scarily short distance to the car in front. Not very comfortable with it TBH.
Setting 2 is fine and 3 leaves a gap that is somewhat inviting.

The M5 does the same. The closest setting seems just right for me, there are three.
I have been using it the last few days and I really
Like it.
Agreed. Works really well. You are always going to get pillocks who pull into small gaps - dont know how BMW are supposed to legislate for that apart from shortening the gap to an unsafe distance.I have been using it the last few days and I really

Its an absolutely fabulous car.
A change from recent musings: Is this worth it? I don't think so.
F90 M5 will be 3 yrs old in early Sept, so out of manufacturer warranty. However it is an AUC car bought at the end of Jan, so I have the AUC warranty until late Jan '23. My plan then is to extend the warranty.
Query: Supplying dealer has sent a promotional letter offering to give the car a free inspection for warranty issues before expiry of the manufacturer warranty. This is clearly of benefit to them as they're paid by BMW for any remedial work, after which (as I understand it) the dealer becomes responsible under the AUC warranty.
It would be about a 5 hr round trip if I took them up on this, plus the inspection time, so call it a day out.
I don't think it's worth it, as I have the AUC warranty cover through to end Jan and plan to extend anyway.
What do others think?

I agree, if you are covered you are covered. I would also expect your local dealer to do it for free anyway as its way of finding themselves work at the end of the day. I wouldn't drive a 5 hour round trip. If something went wrong you would go local anyway.F90 M5 will be 3 yrs old in early Sept, so out of manufacturer warranty. Something odd happened this morning - one side of the transmission tunnel got really hot. From the cupholders back to my left hip the top and side (just on the driver's side) was noticeably hot to the touch. I noticed it because it felt like the heated seat was coming on on my hip. Very odd. I stopped and got out at my destination. Got back in 5 mins later and it was still very warm but it cooled back down over the next 20 mins. Anyone had this?

One thing to check-the rear A/C. Has it been turned up to hot? It travels via the tunnelMarty Funkhouser said:

Yes I've had this and Burwood is right on the money - the rear A/C had somehow ended up being turned up to max and the transmission tunnel ended up being ridiculously hotT4RRR said:

I usually have the heating "syncro" button switch on...on the impression that all the settings front and rear will be the same...never actually checked the rear heating/cooling though.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
