Any idea if the warranty cost is the same for end of AUC warranty and end of manufacturer's warranty?
My M4 was bought outside of the dealer network so I've been out of the loop for a few years. My F90's AUC warranty expires this year and I'm tempted to extend.

Side note - I've not tried out MDM or 4WD Sport as of yet.
Anyone who's came from an M3/M4 care to advise? I've been nervous about it as I've no experience with 4WD before the F90, so not sure how it'll react compared to RWD in MDM.

Currently running Pzeros with only a few K miles on them.

Avoid RWD only, unless you're very bravesmile Tried it at Doni last year & ended up doing 2 laps sideways (not my intent) & eventually backwards out of Melbourne Loop.

No such thing as RWD in MDM i'm afraid, as RWD can only be engaged with EVERTHING switched off. This is the kicker, as say the F10 was RWD only, so you benefitted from the array of safety features, for RWD only in the F90, you have none of this.

I'd spotted that when looking through the M setup menus, definitely too much for the roads as you say!

Have you tried the 4WD sport setting in MDM? I was considering trying that but not sure how it'll compare with the F82 in MDM.

I have both of my M buttons set to MDM mode. In my opinion it's a bit too loose for wet weather progress (unless you want some fun / to test yourself), but is excellent for maximising acceleration and responsiveness in the dry (I find TC interrupts too much in 'normal' mode).

Can't compare to the F82 sorry as I haven't had one.

Yes & that's my go to Track setting, once tyres are up to temperature. Is also my preferred fast road setting when it's dry (so mainly Spring/Summer).

RWD only is a hoot, but have yet to find a scenario where it's anything other than this, as fast progress is next to impossible & unless a very warm/dry day, is borderline dangerous.

Does anyone know the allowance allowed for miles over or under, for the 1200 mile run in service? I've a service pack which bizarrely I've been told might make a difference. Contacted my local and 2 other dealers and no one seems to have a clue or able to give a straight answer.

Hi all. I currently have a mapped f32 435d and I'm considering chopping it in for a 2017/18 M5.

I do 16k a year, 10k of that business and work have given me the nod that the reduction in mpg won't be a problem (which is nice!).

In terms of general buying guides, must have etc is there anything out there? Is warranty a must? I've had the f32 for 50k (30k to 80k) and not had a single issue. Would the same be expected for an f90 with the same mileage?

Any advice welcomed. My budget is at the bottom of the market so c.£45k

Personally I wouldn’t run any M car without a BMW warranty either the AUC or insured plan.

I've had my '18 since September, bought AUC. The only options on it are soft close doors and sport exhaust - more than happy with it.

A lot of people insist on the comfort and tech packs, but they come nicely specced as standard so I wouldn't worry too much if you're looking at one without. Full leather, wireless charging, electric seats, lane departure, blind spot assist, 360 cameras, self park, heated seats, high beam assist...
Only option I'd have liked that mine doesn't have is the heated steering wheel - from the comfort pack I believe.

I had an M4 previously and I insisted on it having all the spec bits that were deemed 'must-haves' on the Facebook group, but it made 0 difference when I came to sell it, still nice to have though!

I'm planning to extend the warranty on mine when the 1 year AUC ends. The S63 in the F90 is revised over the one in the previous M5/M6, but they weren't the most reliable.

As above...plus.
I've had my 2019 M5 since new, use it as a daily driver all year round and have done 35,000 miles.
I have the heating steering wheel and it would be a must have if I bought again.
I have a few other options...that I don't recall what they are indicates how much they are useful.
The only option I wish I had is active cruise.
My wife has it on her lowly Nissan (as std) and its a good safety feature.
I recently took out the extended warranty...£850 with £250 excess.
I would also only buy through a BMW dealer.

I wouldn't bother with active cruise, it's crap on the motorway. Only useful in a traffic jam

My july 2022 M5 comp has the tech + package and the active cruise autonomous drive gubbins seems to work really well, to the extent that i use it almost daily when on the daily grind on the M25/M40 - i just set it to the desired speed and distance and it seems to manage the effect really well. Of course when the congestion clears i turn it off and make my own calls, but when it’s tedious stop-start traffic i find it really helpful.

It works well on my wifes car as well.
If nothing else its a good safety feature...it stops you smashing into the back of someone if you aren't paying attention or fall ill.

The point is it only works well in slow, stop/start traffic, not on a fast motorway.

Is it quite a high miler? I very nearly bought a similar car with 50 odd thousand miles on the clock but bottled it.

I bought mine from that dealer too, impressive set up, they seem to shift quite a few M cars.
