I presume the OPFs came in a bit later with the M5 then? I have a December 2018 F82 M4 and that has the fun sponge quiet OPFs on it sadly(I think they were fitted to the M4 around August 2018 build).
They were introduced September 2018, mine was a March 2018 with Sport Exhaust and sounded glorious
Then I’ve got an older model. biggrin

March 2019 reg, but sounds very antisocial when in sports plus and with the exhaust turned on. Mine’s “only” a regular M5, but after owning it for 2 weeks I can’t see you’d need anything faster! biggrin

Edit: and thanks to those in this thread who answered some questions I had about running costs. If it bankrupts me, it’s all your fault. wink

Oh there's a conundrum then, a slightly newer one or a better sounding one!

Apologies memory not what it was, you are right think mine was made Apr 18 and I bought it Dec 18. In my head it was all a year later!

Look on the inside of the door opening driver side low down, it will state the paint code and when the car was made - month / year.

So it does. Sept ‘18, so I just sneak in with a noisy one. smile

Anyone know what this is, and if it’s worth extending? I have Apple car play and a few other bits that are showing as “unlimited”, and then this thing.

I was frustrated when I realised that my F82 M4 had the OPFs on it to be honest. I was looking for the lowest mileage and newest car that I could afford, and I completely forgot about the OPFs! banghead

If I had my time again I'd go for a 2017 model for definite. My missus actually likes how quiet it is though...because she isn't a show off like I am! hehe

I think if I didn't have the loud 370Z already, I'd have definitely sold the M4 and took the financial hit to get an older/louder better sounding model for sure. I personally prefer some noise from my performance cars rather than them trying to imitate an EV in fairness!

I have a March 2019 competition car, I posted before about how quiet it is and obviously discovered it’ll have the filter fitted. The strange thing is BMW have taken the trouble to install a switchable sports exhaust but it makes as little difference as to not worth switching it - seems a pointless expense to have gone to really.

Instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd use this one. I fancy a lightly used M5, buthaven't been in a BM for a few years, my last one being an F82 M4 with the DCT box. That would hold the gear rather than automatically upshift. What does the 8 speed do in the F90? Hold or upshift automatically? Need to take one for a test drive...

If mines in manual it’ll hold the gear and hit the limiter rather than upshift. Late 2018 non-comp M5.

In manual it won’t upshift automatically - mid 2022 competition

Just renewed this myself, you need it for all connectivity and remote services on the car - so without it no spotify, remote location, remote actions, etc etc

Is it not more about real time traffic info...The "Details" button gives a list of services included in the package.
Remote services, Apple car play, Emergency calls, Teleservices and Connecteddrive services are all included for unlimited duration for me.
Maybe varies with age of M5

See, this is the thing. I too have unlimited CarPlay, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive, Intelligent Emergency Call and Remote Services. My slight concern is this statement.

BMW said:
The new Connected Booster Package contains many digital services that could previously only be booked individually. Any digital service currently active in your BMW but included in the new Connected Booster Package will be displayed separately in the BMW ConnectedDrive Store product overview until your current contract duration for that individual service ends.

Afterwards, the service will be automatically transferred to your Connected Booster Package and given the same expiry date as your package. At that point it will no longer appear as a separate service in the BMW ConnectedDrive Store.
It would be annoying if I currently have unlimited CarPlay (for example) that then gets wrapped into this package I have to renew yearly. I’ll forego live traffic (which my phone can do anyway) to not have to pay yearly for CarPlay…

There was quite the kerfuffle when BMW wanted to charge for Apple carplay especially with USA customers hence the switch to it being free.
I would think that of all the things that BMW might want to return to subscription, Carplay is unlikely to be one of them.

I was alongside a F90 M5 Comp on the M25 last night and my god the sound of it was awesome... The sheer presence of the car was simply stunning..

Everything about it just looks so damn right... It has just placed itself well and truly on my lottery win list now.. Totally smitten (and thats without even driving

one) hehe

Have to say Apple Carplay is excellent and a must have.
