Thanks for that, I think you are right. Just me! Simply amazing car and complete all rounder, had so many different cars over the years but this is stunning.

One last thing, anyone noticed a ‘fishy’ smell if you restart the car from warm in an enclosed space……? I realise that sounds suspect but noticed on a couple of 5 series even before my M5 so it’s not someone I’ve annoyed putting fish oil in the vents!!!
I’ve never had it, but typically it is due to bacteria / mould build up in the air con.

Evening chaps
Just wondered if anyone knew this car, or by some small chance was the previous owner?

Would be interested in any comments on price, spec etc.
Many thanks

Looks like it’s this one?

Unusual colour, good number of toys (night vision must be rare), but oddly no heated steering wheel. Sunroof so it’s missing the carbon roof. The first owner specified that exactly how they wanted it.

Nice colour combo, and the price is very competitive - likely because of the lack of carbon roof, and it being from the early run pre-competitions (neither of which is a bad thing...)

The dials and i-drive combo were the best that BMW ever made, in my opinion, and it will sound fantastic. The lack of android auto is a killer for me on this being a long term keeper, but YMMV.

Thanks for the comments.
Should I be wary of a car with that mileage, big bills looming?

Transfer case oil change at 50k and extended warrenty gets more expensive at 60k. Plan for suspension components at some point in the next 25k too.

The interior is a lovely colour - I have smoke in mine.
My car has done 55k now, it’s been utterly reliable and still feels tight with no rattles or worn suspension.
The warranty is valuable, it does go up in cost at 60k but if you extend and keep it on a monthly payment you’ll avoid the price increase.

Very helpful thanks. If I go for one, it will be a weekend toy with low use so I wouldn't be putting a lot of miles on it.
I love the colour combo and the fact it's a one owner feels good.

I bought mine with similar mileage from BMW also a one owner car serviced by the same dealer from new. I have a couple of other cars so I don’t do huge mileage either. I agree in my option a one owner car at that age is a good sign it’s been a good car.

Bought mine new in 2019 and have done 45,000 miles so far.
Been very reliable and not much more to run than my previous M3s.
Get about the same mpg as well.

Hi all, new to the thread. Had many BMWs over the years and I drive around 30k miles a year so change cars regularly. I bought a 22 M5 comp in tanzanite with 1500 miles on the clock from my local dealer and did around 12k in it. Stunning and absolutely loved it, decided I needed carbon ceramic brakes in my life and traded it for another M5 comp (2023) in the same colour with the ultimate pack and 1400 miles on the clock. Brakes are fantastic (not too worried about all the other toys), BUT, it feels slower…….I’ve only covered another 1500 miles in it and appreciate it’s still got to loosen up, but swear it doesn’t accelerate like my last one. Anyone other serial M5 owners noticed this? Im going to get it dyno’d to satisfy my paranoia as I’d if had to guess it feels like a car with 500-550 bhp. I know some cars vary, but this feels different.

Also, has anyone had the ceramic brake option and noticed it ‘tracks’ across undulations a little more? I first put it down to alignment but now wondering if it’s the lower weight of the ceramic discs at each corner?
Has it had the running in service yet? I'm let to believe the ECU allows more timing once that's been done for full power to be delivered.

Thought this urban legend had been well and truly to bed. Zero increased performance/tune post RIS. Mine all loosened up considerable between 3000-6000 miles though.

Yes, agree with this, nothing to do with first service. Weird story

Hi, it had its running in service at 1300 miles, it’s starting to loosen a little more and I’ve now covered closer to 4k miles but still not in the league of my last one. With Christmas I haven’t had it dyno’d yet but will early in the new year. I had another oil and filter change on my last one at 4500 as it wasn’t displaying the running in service on the digital history. The dealer told me it had been done but wasn’t convinced they were being straight so did it again and definitely felt the difference after that. Fully appreciate I shouldn’t, but can honestly tell you it really felt a different car afterward. So I’m as mystified as everyone else!!

Glad to hear the miles are helping. I know what you mean about the 1st oil change, even if there's no software changes, just getting the debris from a new motor out seems to make it go better.

Only other thing I can think of is I noticed that some 2022 onward cars seems to have another filter / muffler of some sort in the exhaust midpipe:

So not only are there two cats in the downpipe for EU cars and an OPF on the midpipe, something else has been thrown into the mix on the latest M5's, could be yet another restriction for euro6-D sound control and emissions.

If you have an extra oil service out of schedule, I would suggest asking the dealer not to note it on the cars OBS log.
The number of oil services completed dictate when other services are called for..such as plug changes etc.

Help please gents first time posting -
Been watching M5 comp's for the last six months and now have two in my sites both 23 plates, 6 month one less than 2k miles. Both have been around for some four months and started out over £80k. Now being advertised circa £75k so what price do you think I should start negotiating at please? Thoughts on dealer GAP insurance versus third party? Being told only dealer fitted Trackers will not invalidate warranties etc.
Any thoughts/advice gratefully received.
Thanks Mark.

We got nowhere with dealers in the week between Xmas and New Years - not a penny discount above the 700 BMW were contributing.

I am waiting until the end of this quarter to try again.

ALA are the best for GAP.
If you don't need a tracker for insurance then avoid, any good tracker will be ok for insurance cover.
Put in a bid and see if they bite.

Thanks just got a great quote from ALA, £440, was thinking low balling in at £72,500 full and final and see what they say. MBB, Silverstone, Comfort, Vis packs, black wheels etc. When is the end of dealers 1st quarter? Calendar year ie March.
