Hi John
What's your running in procedure?
I'm trying to keep under 5k rpm until the running in service but have had a couple of short squirts...............(and I'm not referring to my trouser dept when I hit the throttle )

and this is worth a read: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Personally I keep it below 4,000rpm for the first 500 miles. Below 5,000rpm for the next 500 miles. And then 5,500rpm for the remaining 200 miles. I stay. away from motorways as much as possible and never use more than 50% throttle (the sports displays are good to judge this).
Managed to do 1,200 miles in just under 10 days and have the running-in service booked for this Thursday.

My god, I just gave the car some throttle (not too much, I’ve only done 250 miles!) and it left a junction locally in damp conditions as if it were trying to take off
Up to 6k revs really, really quickly which I’m sure won’t do the engine any harm........what a machine
And that sports exhaust and it’s crackles......
That is super addictive! I decided to ignore any kind of running in period, the guy at BMW did t mention it so can’t be a real thing!Up to 6k revs really, really quickly which I’m sure won’t do the engine any harm........what a machine

BMW told me less than 3.5k revs until 1200m service?

Have a read of your manual. You have a couple more thousand revs to play with TX.

I did something similar - went to the 8 series launch in my then 10 month old X5M and a week later driving a new M760li that they had in the showroom during the launch....
Epic thing.
If it's not too much trouble could you kindly post some pics of your M760Li. It's not a car that get's much attention on here.Epic thing.

I have to say I had no real intention of buying one but the deal they put together for me was too good too miss out on in the end.
I’m looking at getting an M5 Comp this year when my X5 goes back. What sort of deal are they doing at the moment?
With a very favourable trade in against my X5 I managed a total of nearly £25k off a £97500k car
I know there are PH'ers on here that managed better deals (but I was happy with mine )
Must admit, seeing the pics on here do make me have little pangs of regret over that purple one I turned down in favour of the rs6. It really is a stunning car and I loved the way it drove.
Need to stop looking at this thread now and pretend I'd never seen one and be happy with the big Audi.... which in all honesty I am, both very quick and capable cars and similar but so different.

It's great to find this thread with some M5C owners. I've had my frozen MBB for about 5 months in Australia. I'm loving the car but getting the crankshaft sensor replaced in the next few days due to intermittent stalling problem with Auto Stop/Start. Anyone else had this problem?

Are these new, or pre-reg cars?
They will be new but in there stock, that £20K is NOT a good deal, look around BMW stocks can be accessed by any dealership and they can give you a list of cars and tell you what is on them. These deals end at the end of the Month I have been told.mhh said:

Had the 2018 M5 STD and now the M5 CP no such problems.Edited by mhh on Thursday 21st March 00:59

If i didn’t need the practicality of a hatch on my daily I’d have definitely bought one this month.
