Picked up yesterday. Obviously still running in but quick enough for the drive back from South Wales
The ride is good and more comfortable than I expected given many of the comments here.
Tracker (including an anti key cloning device), and dashcam fitted today.
Having it detailed and ceramic coated at the end of the month by the same person who did the RR just over a year ago, which is still looking good as a result (and is easy to clean).

300 miles past my running in service and a 120 mile trip today.......
Oh my I now remember why I loved my F10 M5...........
But the F90 just does it soooooooo much better
Not a CP but the way it drives is frankly absolutely stunning and it’s a far better car than I am driver!
I love it, love it, love it

Just had my running in service this week, and felt the full force for the first time the other day. It is an immense machine as standard. Im not sure i would want any more power. It feels like its wanting to rip chunks out of the road, and it feels nailed to the road, truly impressive.
If im being picky, i still wish for more sound, and i think a rear silencer is the order of the day. It sounds great when rising through the rev range, but i still want the character of cracks and bangs, when shutting off etc, like my M4 with a pipe, but its just not there atm. Damn those OPFs

The sports exhaust certainly ads something to the mix, lots of pops and bangs (well a few) when you lift off, has yours got SE?If im being picky, i still wish for more sound, and i think a rear silencer is the order of the day. All Competitions have the sports exhaust.I get all the wuffles as i call them on lift off, but after having the M4 with an M Performance exhaust, its just a little tame. I just know the sound im after is in there, as now and then, it emits a fantastic crack on lift off, but i just cant seem to recreate this at will, ive tried all manner of revs, lift off, gear changes etc, its a little frustrating. If you listen to this video from around 2.45 mins, my car just wont do this cracking.

More of a wuffle that than a crack + agreed that the noise is a bit random, sometimes it does it others not. Say you are changing down through the gears I'd expect some noise on the downshift as the revs rise but it seems BMW don't want that! In my old RS3 you'd be hearing gunshots in the same scenario ...

My experience too with F-Type V8’s, lots more bangs and cracks. TX.

I can get mine to do this fairly consistently, will even do it when parked when you rev in sports plus. Only happens for me when driving when I lift off in second and third though. If you listen to this video from around 2.45 mins, my car just wont do this cracking.

Hi all.
Some of you will have read about the issues with my car stalling and the transit blocks being left in.
The good news is the second dealership to look at the car (from where i bought the car) believe they have found the fault with the help of BMW technical. It seems it was the crank shaft sensor as was suggested by another poster on this forum who'd experienced the same issue. So fingers crossed that will have fixed the fault and the car will stop stalling!
I asked the dealership to fund getting the car ceramic coated as an apology for leaving the blocks in the suspension. They came back with a gesture of good will of applying GardX to the exterior.
What are your thoughts on the GardX? I certainly wouldn't pay their crazy prices for it but what about if it is free?
I've never been good at cleaning my cars but i feel a bigger responsibility to look after this one better as it is so nice and expensive! It is a challenge to clean it myself as i live in an apartment with no outside tap. So to clean myself it takes numerous trips up and down stairs with buckets! Im also not as well off as the typical f90 M5 owner so i don't have the budget to get it valeted every month as i lost my job in a restructure, so am investing in getting my own business off the ground. So I'm wondering if the GardX will help? My instinct is that it's not a great product and could be a pain down the line at the end of its lifecycle trying to remove it?
I have to let them know tomorrow if i want it.
Thanks.

It’s just a polish but the main problem is the application over what ever imperfections are already there.
Try for a free oil change instead imo.

I agree, it’s garbage and wouldn’t have it for nothing. Definitely more value in getting next service for free if you can. When I had an issue with my new X5M on delivery I told them I wanted my next service for nothing and they just said ‘of course’. The dealer can then apply for the cost to be refunded to them from BMW uk as a gesture of goodwill. It’s just a polish but the main problem is the application over what ever imperfections are already there.

My instinct is that it's not all the marketing claims.I have already paid for the service plan so rules out getting the next one free otherwise I'd request it.
Oh and apparently they won't update my maps from 02-2018 to 02-2019, in my mind all software should be fully up to date at point of purchase and this is a '19 plate car.. They claim 02-2018 is my base maps and it gets updates over the air and that's it.
I don't get why they wouldn't just update the maps and why they would lie? They must know it can be updated and can be updated by the customer so what is there to gain by lying? I'm just confused by their approach, i'd prefer them to say it's costly for them to do it and ask me to do it manually, at least that would be honest.

Slightly OT but I had the same problem as you living in an apartment and trying to wash the car. Ended up getting a portable electric hose which is about the size of a normal hose reel and it’s ideal! Some of you will have read about the issues with my car stalling and the transit blocks being left in.
