I got my new M5 for £62K so pretty pleased with that.
I'm just not convinced we will see M5s with that level of discount again any time soon.
They aren’t going to get more expensive until the LCI comes out.

If there are new M5 comp cars available with £34k discount then they are keeping pretty quiet about it.

It was never that much for the M5C.

Another reason BMW sold off the M5's as all new builds come with the new idrive system and digital dash and the in stock cars would soon be dated. I was lucky as I got to get a new build to my spec with the latest dash and the big discounts( but not as big discount that some have mentioned!)

I know...but this bit of the thread was a discussion about discounts on the non comp pack cars...and how there would be similar in the future.

Yes I will try. Dealer told me all updates for the new system will be over the air so at least I won't have to go to the dealer.

There will only be comps sold in the UK so there will be no standard M5 new to buy next year.

That’s pretty much all you are going to get as no additional support (for now) for Q4. You would have not got a better deal than this in Q3 for a Comp car. Also I was told that all cars are going to be factory order only moving forward for UK so doubt we’ll see stocks building up. It also took an age to get a production slot for my factory build (which has just turned up). I do wonder what they will do to shift all of the pre built comp cars with the older os and dash dials?

Anyone able to tell me when the new idrive and digital dash was introduced? If the car has a digital cockpit is this the same?

That would be a massive improvement, at least for existing owners, as it would firm up used prices in the longer term.

This started on factory build In August after summer shutdown. Basically same digital dials as X5/ 8 Series but with some M specific features/graphics and the centre Nav screen a little larger than previous 5 series.

I know...I never dreamed that a new M5 would ever be in my budget range.
Driving it ever chance I get....can't afford to eat but you can't have everything!

Re: new digital dash - doesn't look that great in the pictures I've seen. If BMW decide to move on existing (current dash) M5cp stock with similar kind of deals as the recent fire sale of non comp pack M5s....then if I was in the market I'd be happy to take a big discount over the new dash etc.

I have the new dash and I was unsure when I saw pictures of it online but I must admit it is a lot better in real life. The nav in the centre is good but I always use the HUD for directions so for me I don't really use it but I like how you can have more information from BC button eg tyre pressures can be shown in the middle of the rev counter etc.

The new idrive 7 interface is a step up but I still need time with it to learn about all it's benefits.

A friend of mine went out in the new 3 series (currently drives a F80 3 Series) and he thought the best thing about the car was the new dash! I also noticed that when I picked my car up every car I looked at in the showroom had a digital dash which surprised me.

I am a bit of a traditionalist and still would rather have the real moving needles, but times change.
