I know...I never dreamed that a new M5 would ever be in my budget range.Driving it ever chance I get....can't afford to eat but you can't have everything!
Re: new digital dash - doesn't look that great in the pictures I've seen. If BMW decide to move on existing (current dash) M5cp stock with similar kind of deals as the recent fire sale of non comp pack M5s....then if I was in the market I'd be happy to take a big discount over the new dash etc.
Just saw it on the last page. Not to worry

Anyone able to tell me when the new idrive and digital dash was introduced? If the car has a digital cockpit is this the same?
This started on factory build In August after summer shutdown. Basically same digital dials as X5/ 8 Series but with some M specific features/graphics and the centre Nav screen a little larger than previous 5 series. One month further on, what is general feeling on the state of the new M5 Competition market?
The best I have been able to achieve so far seems to be £21,100 off list (just £500 better than the £20,596 discount that a few are advertising) on a 2020MY car with a list of just over £103k. Not quite enough to fully protect against the inevitable initial depreciation, but can I realistically expect to achieve any better at the moment?
My main concern is that end of Q4 2019 and early Q1 2020 will then witness massive promotions and low or even 0% APR etc but isn't that always the risk!?
Will also be chopping in my immaculate 2016 F10 M5 CP and have got a reasonable deal on that, but know that they will still sell it with a massive mark up! Perhaps I should take the time and effort of selling it privately through here, but just the additional challenge of timing the changeover!
Any thoughts or advice gratefully received!

Oh just get it bought and enjoy it, just push them for a bit more for yours. BMW dealers can usually be coerced into a good trade in for another BMW and would be surprised if you’ll get much more than £3-4K selling private. Could you really be arsed? As Ho Ho mentioned, you can always delay for 0%, new LCI next summer, etc.... historically when the 0%’s have arrived then the deposit contributions get reduced. Pound for pound at £82k an M5 is the best daily snotter in the world imo. P.s. Must say loving OS7 having lived with it for a few days. The best I have been able to achieve so far seems to be £21,100 off list (just £500 better than the £20,596 discount that a few are advertising) on a 2020MY car with a list of just over £103k. Even the non CP M5 is an immense car...still can't get my head around just how fast the car is. 600hp doesn't seem enough to give the performance it has.
A- The Non CP actually have 625 out of the boxB- What are you comparing it to. Even 500+ really is a lot of power. Not to mention AWD.

I traded in an M4 CP with ~450ps but ~ 250kgs lighter.B- What are you comparing it to. Even 500+ really is a lot of power. Not to mention AWD.
The M5 with 600ps makes the M4cp seem slow by comparison.

HoHoHo and myself attended a BMWP track day recently where they had loads of BMW owned M2's, M4's and M5's (the owners of each car stuck to their own model all day) and the M5's simply romped away from their smaller brothers. For such a Big Car it really is an amazing bit of kit.

Me too....was at Silverstone for my M Driver package day - was in an M5C - it feels large, but was superb on track, the car really comes alive and is so adjustable on the throttle.. but is does let you know when you over step the mark, as it just goes dead in Sport+ when you are about to brake traction in a bigway (we had to keep away from the MDM mode or else we were told we'd pay for any damage!) .... just glad I was not using mine, more so, as the discs were warped within 3hrs fairly hard use !!!! Haven't experienced that yet, despite hoofing it around today in slippy conditions.... did mange a sideways slide and one of the front wheels went light - a most odd feeling when accelerating hard in a straight line.Amizade said:

More likely is that someone drove into the pits with very hot disks then sat with the footbrake on...and burnt a brake pad shaped deposit on the disks. Edited by Max Maxasson on Wednesday 6th November 15:32

M5s are just amazing things, aren’t they?
I was just looking at lap times around the Nurburgring.A Ferrari 458 Italia with virtually the same lap time as a std F90 M5.
7 mins 38 secs vrs 7 mins 38.9 secs
Thats impressive.

Talking deals, I picked up an M5C two weeks ago, pre-reg 19 plate fully loaded, 22 miles only on the clock for 71.5k. I'm still running it in but already the difference between it and the F10 I had is massive, the handling is just amazing and even though it's not run in it feels as quick as the F10 just by virtue of the fact that in the F10 the traction control was basically permanently on!
