Ouch - sorry to hear that, but thank you for sharing. Hope all is ok now and for the future.

My view is that pretty much any (complicated) car these days has a fair chance of suffering a drama or two (my wife’s ex-demo Range Rover Sport has been SHOCKING - 10 visits back to dealer in 2yrs and now arguing with dealer over who pays for a replacement tailgate that opens intermittently when driving and got damaged as a result. Do not buy a RR! We have a lemon but I have heard so many problems with them, including from the dealer Service Mgr himself on the QT! ??
I have had my RRS 4 years and apart from a couple DPF regen issues due to lack of decent runs it has been faultless.

To be fair, you’ve been very lucky. Terrible reputation. Not having a dig. It’s a fact

I am on my 5th M5, the latest being the 2020 LCI comp, never had a problem with the cars.
My Latest .
Did you swap out a F90 M5 for the facelift?! Worth it?

Yea sold the 2019, for the 2020, well worth the change and I got £24K off the new LCI RRP £110K.
Got a good price for the old car too.
The new car has the M8 gearbox and huge tech , a real upgrade IMO.

Looks superb. I’d certainly like one of these.

Sadly ended up getting rid of mine. Had barely driven it since March and was costing/depreciating way too much to just sit there. Still one of the very best cars I have owned!
I sold mine a few weeks ago for similar reasons and got a good price privately. It was a difficult decision. Additionally I found the power/speed just too accessible on the road. My fault I know and in comparison I’ve owned a 911 Turbo and GTR in the past.

I’ve bought a new M135i xdrive, not as a replacement and mainly for my wife to drive. It’s not comparable but is fun to drive smile

Another influencing factor was that I did get collard and thankfully only bked by plod during the original lockdown for a very brief burst of M5 acceleration ‘possibly’ exceeding the speed limit on an empty 40mph dual carriageway. They were armed police in an old 2013 white X5 that I failed to spot. I could have taken off but decided not to biggrin

BTW I’m safe now in my Range Rover smile

Unfortunately your not in a "minority", loads of these are braking down on a regular basis, not a good bet to buy.
Service is st also.

Just for a bit of balance my RRS has been very reliable and the service from Landrover has been first class!

One of the lucky one's I have friends who want rid as they are constantly being in for faults.

We also have a DiscoSport that’s covered 60k miles without a hiccup!

So my car was in yesterday with a seat calibration fault. Whilst they had it I was informed it was due a recall for "fuel ventilation" which seemed to involve a factory reset of the software is it was plugged in for 4 hours ish. Anyone else been recalled for it?

TX.

I'm booked in on the 15th for a full software update to fix the ability of the emissions system to warn should there be a fault with the fuel vent system.
