Apparently you should be able to choose the colour of the brake calipers....black blue or red.
Correct if you buy new and your own spec, which means a massive depreciation hit.The colour of the brake calipers was behind the make of tyre in the priority list of my decision making

Change of plan. Decided against a PCP deal on a new one and took a look at nearly new M5 Comps.
Found a cracker I hope. New LCI model, 70 plate, 5 months old, 1500 miles. Even has the Michelin tyres.
High spec, so originally priced at £113,000 reduced to just under £74,000 plus a decent PX valuation. Picking it up in the next few days.
Picked it up yesterday. Click and collect Then 100+ mile run home. Very pleased to be back in a M5. Found a cracker I hope. New LCI model, 70 plate, 5 months old, 1500 miles. Even has the Michelin tyres.

Compared to my previous DCT M5 Comp the ride in comfort is more refined (more comfortable) thanks to the M8 suspension. Even my wife approved and she disliked the DCT ride.
I think the LCI version comes close to combining the more comfortable ride of the previous M5 with M5 Comp handling in Sport mode.

Congratulations Phil, can we expect photos? How do you find the gearbox?
What did you have before as I gather there was another car between your last M5 and this one.
I’ve not really tested the gearbox yet in Sport/Sport+ mode but it seems fine. Given the rain and cold weather yesterday, the Michelin tyres feel much better than the Pirelli’s did on my old M5. What did you have before as I gather there was another car between your last M5 and this one.
In between I bought a 20-plate M135i mainly for my wife to use but we just didn’t get on with it. Too small, noisy 4 pot, uncomfortable seats, rigid suspension etc. An excellent car for younger people perhaps? Kept it 5 months and did less than 500 miles including the 200 miles picking it up and dropping it off yesterday. I’ve been driving our Range Rover since selling the M5.
It was raining when I picked it up yesterday so no point in taking any photo’s. I’ll post some more photos when the weather improves and I can wash it Also considering having it detailed and ceramic coated as I do with most of my cars. It really makes a difference over a couple of years.
Edited to add some more photo’s from the dealer advert.

M5s are all about the stealth..I get that
But Im out off the f90 m5 as it just looks almost indistinguishable from an M sport BMW from afar
I really wished they'd slightly pumped up the arches and maybe a power dome on the bonnet (M4 CP owner here!)
They actually did: the front wings are slightly wider and the bonnet has two lengthwise “power bulges” (oh dear). But Im out off the f90 m5 as it just looks almost indistinguishable from an M sport BMW from afar

But yes, clearly not a pumped up RS6 look

An annoying difference I’ve noticed between the DCT and LCI versions.
When pressing a red M button on the steering wheel the head up display in the DCT version changes to Sport mode, as does the dash. This doesn’t happen on the LCI. You have to press the mode button next to the gear lever to change the head up display/dash to sport mode and then either faff about with the screen to change the settings or press a M button. A step backwards IMO.
Or have I missed something?

I would have thought that the M1 and M2 buttons on the LCI are still entirely programmable, so up to you to set them up to your liking? Program those buttons anyway you like. When pressing a red M button on the steering wheel the head up display in the DCT version changes to Sport mode, as does the dash. I am waiting on a price from my dealer with Individual paint and a modification in leather via individual. Has anybody done this before?
I enquired about this today as I am thinking about individual paint. They haven't advised a cost yet, do you know? There is a vast amount of choice but I expect it to be cost-prohibitive.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
