Mine is due so called local dealer and they wanted £520. Forgot what I paid for the M3 and M4 as its was years ago. Is this the current going rate for the X3M?

My M5 was just over £700 so I see no reason why yours shouldn’t be less, broadly the same job so I would bite their arm off!

Is the running in service not just basically an oil and filter change or has it changed since I lost owned an M car?

My F80 M3 was less than £300 at Lloyds in Colne in 2017.

RIS for the X3/4M should be £450-500.

Out of interest, why is it more expensive? Is there an extra diff needing an oil change?

Ramping it up to try and make some money I guess, I paid around £280 in 2016 for the RIS on my old F80, £500 is taking the mickey somewhat the pricing quoted for the M5 is a joke.

I believe it's just the engine oil and the diff as before.

Sure it'll be a hoot and bet the engine is a monster (the old one felt fabulously strong at 450hp).

Lighter car though you had more pwr/weight than the X3M has but it does feel strong, I've just seen a post on another forum with a price of £380 quoted after haggling on the RIS.

If you're going to buy another BMW next, the service plan makes a lot of sense.

I did the maths on 10k per annum and keeping the car for 3 years and for the RIS, and 2 services all good.

If you get the service plan the RIS is £390 but obviously included.

The service plan is essentially a savings plan but one that you can transfer to another BMW if you don't use it all.

My car is getting it's RIS tomorrow!

I was told that there isnt a service plan for the M models.

I did ask as had it on previous BMW's and saves a lot.

Looking on BMW website appears that the new style plan is a deposit to cover the fist service, and then a pre pay model.

£1620 will cover the three services, so I cant see the benefit.

Old system was £500 up front, and that covered you for 5 years servicing.

My thoughts exactly, happy to bet that I can pay no more than that as and when it needs a service.

My service plan for my F90 M5 cost £999 so a good investment bearing in mind I drive 12k per annum.

It was £999 for M3/4 etc.

It also changed in 2017 to be only 3yrs for the same price.

Those older plans have all gone now.

Every model has a service plan that's more of a savings plan with discounted services, transferrable to a new model if not used.

Clearly they took a big bath on the service packs.
