Unfortunately you get throbbers in all sorts of cars.

Followed a chap in an M4 for a bit yesterday, windows down despite the passing rain booting it off every set of traffic lights and generally being a bit daft.

Last summer I was behind a 240 driving fairly well below the speed limit, the minute I went to overtake he floored it. God knows why, having been happy trundling along at 45 on a NSL but suddenly decided it was fine to drive loads faster the minute he was being overtaken.

Says who....most quarter mile ticketed trap times for the F90 M5 CP are 11 or under.
Also:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fastest_prod...

See also Nordschleife lap times ( fastestlaps.com) where it runs faster times than a Gallardo and a 458 italia
Fastest laps has the standard F90 M5 at 10.9 for the quarter mile.

Are you sure you are looking at the right car?

Ah. So if it's a young lad in a nice car it just HAS to be illegal money and untaxed and uninsured laugh

Maybe in Bradford smile

Then again I know a lad from Blackburn. He has 5 or 6 high end cars. He owns his own IT company. He is around 30 yrs old.

I also know a guy in Doncaster whos early 30s. Bought himself a GT3 RS purely from buying and selling Quadbikes, trailers etc. All above board. He also has a Range Rover SVR and a nice gated house.

A very funny also.

He had an Rs4 track car and had the boot floor cut out for weight saving. At a track day the airflow inside was going to blow the windows out so he took the boot lid off :-)

I’m not saying that the M5 is a st car but it’s nowhere near super car quick. Over the half mile it would be at the back by some margin.
You clearly can't read as Max stated the quarter mile time in his post, 10.8s. You have already shown yourself as a fool with your "moderately quick" comment yet here you are still digging away.

I can read very well thank you. I'm saying by the half mile it wouldn't be doing terribly well as it doesn't have enough power. Take a look at the video I posted above, it did a 1/4 in over 11 seconds. No point getting annoyed, I've already admitted the M5 is a nice car for the family but it's no super car like you seem to suggest.

I haven't suggested it is a Supercar, you on the other hand told us that it can be bested by other "moderately quick" cars, clearly nonsense. Over 11s quarter mile suggests that the owner hasn't worked out LC yet.

You seem rather sure about that. I’ve not once mentioned my cars, nor am I upset. I’ve also acknowledged the M5 is moderately quick compared to other average cars.

Bloody hell, some of you need to remember being young!

Whats better at that age than seeing some great car being thrashed off up the road, im 40 and still like seeing it now hehe

Nothing more odd than someone who has a proper performance car and drives it to about 3krpm. really odd imo.

Theres obviously no need to drive like an idiot in built up areas etc but whats wrong with giving a little dig somewhere a bit more open.

I don't know why people get so touchy about it, i mean if your in a totally normal car and some tt is constantly up your arse then yes that's properly tttish behaviour but otherwise just give it a little dig, might make some kids day. And to think our generation moans that the youth of today isn't into cars anymore.

I think you need to reread the post, it was an X3!
And that X3 will do 100 in 8 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.6 which you really wouldn't expect from an X3, it's a bit of sleeper looks like a school run car goes like the clappers.

Jeez I bet lots of Porsche Ferrari Lambo etc owners are going to be a bit sad when they discover their cars are only "moderately quick compared to other average cars."

Meaningless. Choose a different circuit and you get a different result:

https://fastestlaps.com/tracks/hockenheim-short

It’s a 2 tonne saloon, not some sort of track weapon. It’s going to be compromised as it’s obviously designed as executive transport.

Not rubbishing it, but calling it out for what it is and if it wasn’t compromised, it wouldn’t fulfil its brief to be the boss’ wheels.

I remember being young and sitting at traffic lights with a car full of friends, revving the engine to the max on my 850 cc, 34bhp Mini, with it's peco big bore twin exhaust, getting ready for the green light to drag race the young lads in the car next to me, and just as the lights turn yellow, the dhead in the passenger seat gently nudges the 3 foot long gear lever into neutral without me noticing,...... and it's green......

Funnier when you do it to somebody else. Those were great times.

Can't really do that so easily with automatics nowadays.

LOL...that was so me.
As a callow youth I remember pulling up next to a police car at traffic lights on the Bayswater road 4 up in my Mini Cooper.
Lights change and off we screech 200 yards to the next set of lights.
The look the driver of the police car gave me was priceless.
A breath test later and off we went on our merry way.

The original Mini was a brilliant little car, we had loads. 50 mph felt like 150 mph and it handled like a go-kart. Sounded brilliant too with that characteristic gearbox whine.
