Certainly looks to be a heck of a car but I’m still completely unaccepting that anything about it, apart from it’s apparent inaccessibility for ‘normal’ punters, really warrants the price premium.
As I’ve still heard nothing (thanks for the courteous feedback upon a serious enquiry BMW), I’m assuming the issue is academic for me, but look forward to seeing a couple out there in due course.

Have you ever spec'd an M4 online? My perfect spec is about £100k. This car has that spec but also a carbon bonnet and boot, bespoke suspension components that should massively enhance overall feel and bespoke bucket seats, not to mention titanium elements of the exhaust system and a bit more power, for about £30k. Seems reasonable to me?As I’ve still heard nothing (thanks for the courteous feedback upon a serious enquiry BMW), I’m assuming the issue is academic for me, but look forward to seeing a couple out there in due course.
Accepting your obvious enthusiasm, how many M4 buyers do you really think spec and pay full whack for their car?
As BMW are not engaging on this, can only rely on my M2C experience, which was ‘we’ve found what you want…, whereupon a discounted price was agreed.
Frankly, I’m not sure many pay full RRP for BMWs, no matter how exclusive. Despite the hype and funnelling, these need to be moved so I’m sure deals will be had.

Currently? I'd say that there's very little discount to be had (if any). About 9-12 months ago? Sure, plenty of discounts across the range but given that BMW has way more interest in these cars than cars available, I'd say it's a pretty good place for your money even at full whack. But even if the delta is a true £50k, you'd easily spend that upgrading a regular M4 to CSL spec.

Times have changed very little discounts to be had on m cars nowadays and it’s easy to spec a g8x over £100k I would think typically most add about £10k of options to the base price , you might if lucky get £5k off that As BMW are not engaging on this, can only rely on my M2C experience, which was ‘we’ve found what you want…, whereupon a discounted price was agreed.

I signed my order today - in black - no real communication from dealer I just got an email from them with an order form and docs to sign.
Nice - what colour did you go for?Edited by J-P on Saturday 2nd July 08:52
Did you actually get an allocation, I got denied today put my deposit down a couple of months
Unfortunately you were unsuccessful in getting a M4 CSL. We had a total of 5 orders for this car with a few of these in a more favorable position than yourself. Would you like me to arrange for the deposit to be refunded?
Bet fking She-Me got one though

I thought you signed your order?
Didn’t get that far; had to go through a charade of a beauty parade to even get them to put forward an expression of interest. Next step was to be the order if a notional allocation was possible.Could be the salesman was playing me but seemed legit.
