Isn't the G already available in some markets with a manual gearbox?

It has no induction noise, no CF airbox.... Is there any point in being called a CSL if it doesn't sound like a CSL should? I watched the Top Gear startup and "review".

It sounds like a trumped up hairdryer. A CSL should not have a farting and crackling exhaust..

1625kg - confirms the 'Coupe Sport Lightweight' moniker is an absolute pisstake then.

Don't worry too much about the name or even the marketing. Perhaps have a test drive and see how much you hate it?

Only 200kg heavier than a 992 GT3 is amazing considering its size and spec.

Can we just consider the fact it has heated seats.

Case closed.

Lets face it, us old dudes, who have owned an E46 CSL were always going to struggle with this car. Reality is, its not for us, its for 20 and 30 somethings to buy.

I think it is precisely targeted at older generations with enough disposable income and some nostalgia of their youth.

Are you going to test drive it too?

No. Cant afford one, just blown all my cash on an M2C.

The heated seats are a no cost option.

Brilliant choice!!! The real successor to the E46 M3 IMO. Despite the turbo(s).

Had it 24 hours.

Previously owned a E92 M3 and a E46 CSL. I'll let you know how we get on!

Pretty much exactly what should have been expected. Absolute nonsense suggested weights of 1435 kgs ?? How?
Some gullible idiots on the interweb.

However, based on recent form I'm sure it will be excellent

I think 1625KG is ok given it’s size. That’s still lighter than my old E92M3.

It comes with everything on it too! So no real options to speak of. Anyway, there are 600 on a list with BMW waiting to see if they’ll be one of the lucky 100, so let’s see what happens.

Where have you been since BMW went all turbo? Nothing will sound like an E46 M3 CSL! Even though its "heavy', they go like stink.

Yes, but have to wait to see if BMW let me have one. 600 deposits already and only 100 cars coming into the UK.

I think they missed a trick not giving the F82 M4 the CSL treatment that was one of the lightest modern generations coming in at around 1500KG DIN it was only 30kg heavier than the e46 M3 and 125KG lighter than the lightened G82 CSL.

I bought an E46 M3CSL at 63k new and lost 30k in 18 months ... they couldn't sell them and dealer cars with 1500 miles on the clock were selling at 42k ...

This is possibly the ugliest heaviest CSL type car I have ever seen ... I currently own an F80CS and this CSL leaves me absolutely cold.

Compact. No. Lightweight. No. Track focussed. No. Stripped back with little to go wrong (think 964RS). No. Economical. No. Too fast ... maybe.

Why ?

I am truly not trying to pick a fight .... ??
