I mentioned elsewhere that individual colours are now listed on https://visualizer.bmw-individual.com/Ipps/bmwoac?...
I can waste hours mucking about with the colours.
Thanks for that, I was wondering when the list would come up. Still like the idea of Daytona Violet despite the cost... But its not going to go with an orange & black interior!I can waste hours mucking about with the colours.
Anyway, that's the chance of any productivity gone out the window for the morning...
How are some dealers able to place orders when some don't seem to have their allocation confirmed yet? Or is it just an order on their internal(?) system at the moment?
It's such a shame that >90% will be shades of grey, and not even Individual shades of grey.

I wouldn't know where to start with that much choice.

I've had thought too... if I'm going to be keeping this car for a longer time, I quite fancy going for a colour I really want and something different. Not sure how useful the visualiser really is though - Daytona Violet looks much darker on there than it did at Goodwood in the sun for example. It's such a shame that >90% will be shades of grey, and not even Individual shades of grey.
This won't be anything like an RS6. I nearly bought an RS6 rather than my M4 a year ago, then experienced on and found it was just a large lardy and generally very soft family estate. The M3/M4 is a proper sports car when you want it to be, and can be a relatively comfortable cruiser when not. You can feel the engineering in the BMW, the RS6 just doesn't have the engagement or driver enjoyment. I think the M3 will be a quite different proposition, for the driver.

The dealer ordering to factory is available on 22/9. No one has a proper order, allocation or build date at the moment. Anyone who suggests they have is being deliberately misled by the dealer, or misunderstanding what they've been told. BMW haven't even released the official emission figures yet, so no one knows the total cost on the road.Anyway, that's the chance of any productivity gone out the window for the morning...

The closest you can get is a new vehicle quotation on SA3. They will have a filename SA3XXXXX, and the dealer will be able to send that to the factory from 7am on 22/9. I think some dealers have an idea of their allocations, or that may have just come from their area managers.
I've told my friendly salesman to set his alarm early next Thursday!
I'm not sure when the order gets it's build slot after the dealer submits the order.
I've 'placed an order'. All that is is a deposit and a vague receipt (order was 'placed' in March), I got my SA3 printout with full spec and vehicle price in June.
I've gone for Portimao Blue with Kyalami Orange and Black Bicolour, but loved the Daytona Violet at FOS. As other posters have said, that adds a unknown delay to the order, and is another £4.5K. There's some comments on the M3 boards about it being a bit too loud to live with, so decided not to change. If I had gone Daytona, I'd have changed the interior to Silverstone and Black Bicolour, but that interior is a bit bland.
I originally went with the Kyalami Orange and Black Bicolour Extended Merino Leather, but saw an M3 saloon with that interior. The door cards are all black, it looks half finished and like they have the wrong door cards, so have amended my order to full leather for an extra £2K.
Thanks for all the info Ledz & Catfood12, that makes a lot more sense now.
That's also answered my question about the leather options I think as I had a courtesy 3 series this week and noticed the door card thing so I think it will be full leather too.
I guess I just need to be patient now and wait for the dealer to see where I am on their list...

the values of the G80 are already falling heavily and don't think an estate will make any difference.
Unless you're ordering a very limited-edition BMW, that's pretty much how it is though isn't it? So if the car is a keeper, you're ok, but unless you manage to buy one and sell it on immediately or in the first 6 months or so, its value is only going to go one way over the next couple of years and then depreciation will slow/level out as it finds its place in the market.cosmokmike said:
