I'm going to put my positive hat on and say that hopefully it will look better in the metal though.
I agree... Hoping there will be alot more detailed images released when I order mine on the 12th of this month along with colours, specs and PRICE...? I'm pleased with the 240,the styling isdefinitely growing on me and if I dare say it makes the original M2 look a little dated...! CRA1G said:

The 240 rear end looks very Vauxhall-esque to me. It will have to be stunningly good to drive for people to forgive the styling imo. Driver101 said:

That looks great IMO. I still reserve judgment until I see it in the flesh. I thought the M240iX looked a bit weird in pictures but in the flesh it's brilliant, even the rear. Hopefully the same thing will happen. nickfrog said:

Looks better than the G8x tbf, nowhere near as blobby/obese from the side, and even a Hofmeister Kink! No more looking from the side and wondering if you're looking at a BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Merc, Audi or a Lexus! Joscal said:
Lost all interest in M cars after the E92. Still miss my CSL, sold it for 24k way back then.
You ought to give the M2 or the M4 a try. I've always liked the older NA M cars from a nostalgia point of view, but for me the turbo M cars are actually more exciting to drive. In the NA M cars you have to be absolutely tanking in them before they wake up, whereas the turbo M cars are far more lively/fun at lower speeds I reckon.

I find the opposite to this tbh, I have an M2C and it makes all its power top end, S55 makes peak power 5.5k to redline, you have to stretch its legs to get the full potentialIn the NA M cars you have to be absolutely tanking in them before they wake up, whereas the turbo M cars are far more lively/fun at lower speeds I reckon.
B58 in my m140i however was a torque monster and was a much better road car day to day

Cant imagine anything duller than an M car that you just ride the torque with and that has no reason to rev out, luckily the s58 in these has both torque and a reason to rev it outB58 in my m140i however was a torque monster and was a much better road car day to day

The M4 is more of a challenge to drive at lower speeds and that is what I'm alluding to. The M4 is more fun, whereas the E92 M3 only started to get fun at silly speeds for me in comparison.

I also like that the S55 revs right out too, but I also like how it thumps the torque down in second gear for example and it unsettles the rear of the car when you floor it. In the E92 M3 it wouldn't unsettle the rear if you did the same in comparison.

That’s because you had the manual! I’ve been lucky to have had quite a few M over the years and the F10 M5 was the last. To me M cars were all about being NA they were amazing engines especially the CSL and V10’s. Price of progress I guess! The M4 is more of a challenge to drive at lower speeds and that is what I'm alluding to. True! Yes and I can definitely understand the love for the older cars for sure. I still have very fond memories of driving an E36 M3 years ago, and I fell in love with the engine back then.
The S55 engine is still special for me though.
