I don't think the angle the photo is taken at the rear is helping. Maybe in a darker colour with an aftermarket diffuser to join up the gap might help.

The colour is horrendous though, i had a mk2 fiesta pop plus in a similar shade!!

Looks like they couldn’t afford the full license for their CAD software and had a limited number of polygons when they designed the bodywork.

Marketing department will pitch as the design team taking inspiration from classic car computer games like codemasters TOCA circa 1998. Has a hint of the late 90s BTCC Nissan primera about it.

It's terrible, why no metallic flake at least. Will no doubt look better in Black and maybe red.

I'm somewhat late to the discussion and fully aware that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but, sorry, this just looks bloody awful in these photos. It's not a spoof is it with the real successor being truly fabulous-looking?

I actually don't mind the front end and the more I look at it, the more I quite like the simplicity of it. At least it looks easy to clean!!
Like one or two others on here, I also think (hope!) it will look better in another colour with non black wheels but the rear bumper is probably going to be the thing that makes me get my deposit back off the dealer. I just can't see how the tall vertical lines and shapes will ever look right no matter what colour it is.........trying to keep an open mind though!

The sides are bland too. The comparison between old and new really highlights that. I think it makes it look very dumpy.

To a certain degree I'm suprised at the styling of the enhanced bonnet bulge,arches and mirrors on the M240..? I'd have thought BMW would have toned that down to give the M2 more of a aggressive stance..?
