I would say it's probably less than the depreciation + the opportunity cost (at say 3.5%) if you owned it for 2 years.
Thanks, must say it is tempting!Deep Thought said:
Including vat?
Yes including vat not sure if I'm allowed to link here but it's here https://www.contractcars.com/product/bmw-m2-2dr-co... - £600 fee is a bit of a joke though imonickfrog said:

I would say you are probably correct with that thought. Saw a 5 month old car today (demonstrator with 9800 miles). With the spec it has I have been offerred a new one at 71.5k against a list of nearly 78k. The 5 month old car is up at just shy of 57k. That’s 20k+ depreciation in 5 months against list and 14.5k depreciation even against my current offer.
Leasing over 2 years is 16,200.

The used same spec car you reference at £57k is a good point - and then you realise that’s £57k at retail.
Imagine 5-10k margin in that so actual depreciation is probably £20k with 10,000 miles in 5 months
Might keep my GR Yaris.

Would any of you mind sharing your factory order delivery times please? I've heard 18 weeks but not sure if that's realistic? Thanks
We ordered one, in the exact spec we wanted which happened to be in production, on 8th March and the car is arriving next Thursday or Friday. Not quite the answer you wanted but I don't think there is a long waiting time for them.

Mine comes in late May, I can't wait.
Gone for a red auto with the plus pack. I would have done the track pack but its not worth £9k for the seats IMO as the carbon roof and interior trim are standard in the UK anyway and mine will be a daily.

Probably not that far from accurate - don’t forget that they ship from Mexico and that can account for up to 6 weeks of your lead time.
Also depends on whether you have gone for a custom(ish) colour

What's everyone's thoughts on the 1000M wheels? Do they impact the ride?

I think the looks of the G87 M2 are somewhat challenging, however, I am about to put a deposit down on a new black G87 M2 to replace Mrs OH's 5 year old M240i.
When you are driving the car you don't see the challenging looks. It's the dynamics of the car that matter and it is one hell of a car and that's coming from someone who owns (and will probably never sell) a 981 Cayman GT4 which is an excellent car.
Having owned a few M3s and a F87 M2 the G87 M2 is a better car than most of those I've owned with the possible exception of the two E30 M3s I owned many years ago.
Yes in the car one can't see its looks. Which if one thinks the car is not pleasant to look at is I guess a win. When you are driving the car you don't see the challenging looks. But if one likes the looks... As I approach the garage I like opening the garage door and seeing the car become visible as the door lifts. I then walk around the car before getting in.
Every time I park the car I favor it with a backward glance. And walking back to the car after my errand I enjoy taking it all in.
Because I really like the car and how it looks.
After test driving a 981 GT4 for a good 30-40 mins I much preferred M2. Did not gel with the GT4 at all and came away a bit underwhelmed.
Got an improved offer on the new one if 10% off a car with race pack, comfort pack and driver assist.
Decided to try a Lotus Evora 410 GT Sport. Should not depreciate like the M2 and would be better on the track than the M2. Oh wow. What a great car. Not quite the same pace as the BMW but wonderful to drive at any speed and the noise and looks are addictive. Just got to sell the Elise SC and GR Yaris now.

Go for the Manual.... Remember this will be the last chance to buy a New ICE Manual ///M Car..
I went in thinking auto was the way to go, but after test driving them both, bought the manual. The manual seems to get a slating in some of the reviews, but I don't think it's warranted.
