New shape M5 - how cheap?
Discussion
Don't let the horror stories put you off. They are fantastic cars. Who cares about depreciation and only getting 11mpg - when you floor it and everything goes warpspeed you really know you made the right choice over a 535d
p.s. Gus had his V10 engine blow up last week!

Thanks for that Ashok, I bought the 535d touring!!
Sorry I just don't see it with the porkers holding more value, some models maybe, but there are nice 54 plate 911's out there for a smidge over £40k, everyone convinces themsleves that cars don't loose money, just enjoy them and if it holds its value well like the new M cars do at first then that is a result.
Just like any car, buy it right at a year old and sell it on after 10k miles is your best bet residual wise, but better than that just buy a car you can afford and enjoy and forget about the money!

Interesting, and not something I've heard before - do you have any figures to back up that viewpoint ?

Sorry no offence intended Guy. I thought about taking the sensible route (going diesel) as this is my daily driver but heck you only live once so go for it!
P.S. there's definitely a touring M5 on the way soon although possibly LHD only (like the E34)....
