Hi.

Accepting that you pay more a BMW dealer for an AUC, is it still reasonable to expect to get a bit off the screen price?

I don't have any experience of BMW dealers and am not sure how arrogant they are likely to be in this regard. I'm looking at spending about £25k on an M3 and have been looking up to £25,995 so far.

Thanks

Absolutely, either they disguise it as a high price for your trade-in or they give you a screen prices discount. They tend to write the money off in different ways to suit VAT and other issues like that. Every dealer will do it differently.

When I bought my car I got 1,500 quid off. I would say he would expect to loose the 995 or a little more. Get the price sorted and then, and only then start tearing the car apart. Familiarise yourself with the BMW AUC scheme. For example my car had a small gouge in the sidewall of a front tyre. If it had been my tyre I would have lived with it but the BMW AUC scheme says categorically that there should be NO sidewall damage so he had to whack a new tyre on. Also any internal trim repairs or dent devil stuff he should do.

HTH.

That's right - agree the price first, then make them fix anything that's wrong. (Agree you should get about a grand off.)

AUC cars i've bought have been good as new.
