HI JUST BOUGHT A NICE E39 M5 AND WONDERING IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAKE THE MIRRORS FOLD AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF?? ALSO I HAVE TYRE MONITERING BUT I GO THROUGH THE PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE IN THE MANUAL, BUT AFTER I HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR 10-15 MINS AND PRESS THE BUTTON IT STILL SAYS ITS INACTIVE WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??

Don't know about the mirrors. Ref the tyre pressure monitoring system. I think when you activate it the system goes into a period of learning (more like an hour or so than 15 minutes) before it becomes fully active.

Re Mirrors....you may need to go aftermarket to find these through a specialist. May not be such a cheap addition.

Re the mirrors, it can be done but by wiring a cable in to the locking mechanism.

But on the US M5 board they advise against it as the motors are not that strong and to be folding them all the time runs the risk of burning the motors out.

With the tyre sensor, from the car being off, turn the ignition to the second point (do not start the engine). Now press and hold the tyre sensor button (on the dash, lower left of the steering wheel) for 10-15secs and the display unit should eventually give you a message about the system being ready or reset. That's it, you're all set!

THANKS ALL I WILL GIVE THE TYRE SENSORS A TRY AND WILL ALSO TAKE THE ADVICE AND LEAVE THE MIRRORS ALONE. I TOOK THE RESONATOR OUT TODAY AND REPLACED IT WITH STR8 PIPES SOUND WICKED!!!!
