i dont get anywhere near 35mpg in my 2.5 alfa,infact i dont get anywhere near 25mpg on combined

When you get to a downhill stretch, it'll go to 999.9 MPG too!

my 10,000 mile average is 26.5 MPG which, to be honest, isn't too bad considering the performance of the car and how I drive it.

theres a guy selling one on autotrader that says he can get 40mpg out of his redface/

Yeah.

Like I said, I can get 999.9 mpg out of mine.

Not as an average, though.

40mpg is a dream... best I've managed is just under 35mpg on a tank, as I said my 50k average is just over 29mpg.

With regard to the calipers smoking, its actually the pads and is definatelly not the fluid, its not a problem but I live in the country so its all back roads stuff which tests the brakes when you push on.
Personnelly if I was to track the car I'd fit better calipers and stiffer suspension, but for me on the road it hasn't needed it yet but then its not a weekend toy to me.
