I also think another point worthy of mention here, is the fact that this is a new engine for BMW, and largely unknown in it's current form. I'd think twice about being less than sympathetic in the engines early days

Thats why BMW include in the price a thing called a "waranty", the teccy in the garage even said these engines will not perform to the max untill oil passes through thr rings, thats how the engine was designed.
This engine is the most advanced V8 ever to be produced for the road, BMW dont just throw Sh1t out of the factory and use the purchasers as a test dummie.
