I think what has been said already is pretty much spot on. The e34m5 can be tracked, no problems, even as standard. Brakes do grumble after a while though.

It is however a big, old, heavy, (relativley for its time) powerful car, and these all add up to higher running costs.

I do wonder from time to time how it would drive fully stripped out. If I ever do decide to ruin what re-sale value there still is by doing this, I will post pics in readers car.

All Im saying is that its perhaps more sensible buying a track M5/M3 fully prepared and keep the M5 you have currently.

Road discs & pads certainly would fade quickly compared to race spec items.

Welshy, Whilst I mean you no offence, your contributions to this thread are about as much use as a burst condom.
