OP - if you are ever down near Berskhire drop me a line and I will take you out in mine or drive yours, could even try my wheels on your car to eliminate the tyres as a cause.

If you get new RTAB fitted then fit a limiter kit too to make the next set last longer, 20-30k miles is about average I think, less with track work or very hard driving.

It comes down to two choices.

FIT NEW RTAB

Or I can buy the death trap of you for £12k? And then I'll fit new RTAB and sell at a huge profit.

I'm not going to pay that much for this death trap, you ARE welcome to it my good man. But before you take your wife and kids in it, spend £150 on two little rubber bushes please. lol

Right car is booked in for RTABs - hopefully this will sort the damn problem.

It will an interesting exercise to see if the combined might of M3 owners is better than the two independent garages I have spoken to.

If this doesn't fix it then I'll be flogging it on here so keep your eyes peeled !

And get the limiter kit installed at the same time!

Someone on mtorque is selling the kits cheap as they've got some from the states - look in the for sale section.

Sorry for the noob question but what is the limiter?

I am struggling to register on mtorque (despite clicking link it won't activate my account) and hence don't think I can use a search option (couldn't see it on the screen)

It is a set of metal plates installed either side of the bushes that reduce movement better locating the trailing arms and making the RTAB last longer.

Simpson Motorsport sell them but their website seems down at the moment.

My car is booked in for the new year - given xmas and the fact I'm down in london at the moment (and the cars in the midlands) it was the quickest I could do it.

Shame it's not with you as I could have got it done this week for you... Please don't let anyone drive it in this weather until it's sorted.

Guys just a quick post to say thanks for all your help on this issue. Got the RTABs changed and it transformed this car to a true beast !!!!!!

I now see what the fuss is about the M3 - when its this planted it is a dream to drive.

Feel a 911 itch still which I may need to scratch in the future - but 50/50 at the mo as I smile each time I drive the M3 and get may face ripped off with the acceleration!!!!
